Jordan is GOAT. LeBron is the all time league MVP.

Lebron delusional, apologist slurpers are disgusting

I still want to see LeChoke go to a contender team as a role player and get a few more rings just for the lols it would bring

Pretty sure that is his plan in the next 5 years

Candybar: 4) Rodman and Pippen had 6.6 VORP, which would roughly translate to 18 wins. Losing those two was a larger loss than losing MJ.

Ok i think we can stop now ....
Rodman at 37, 2 years older than MJ lol

Just so you know MJ had better number than d wade in both season he won with lebron when MJ was playing in his return in 2001 ..

36 year old Rodman doesn't make it 2 years after Jordan retires = GOAT teammate! If fact, he was actually BETTER than Jordan too!!

Yup, I know what the conclusion is. It's always some mixture of Lebron's ...

(1) cast was too weak.
(2) coach was too bad.
(3) organization is too inept.
(4) competition was too tough.

Huh? The post was about the Pacers and Bulls. It had nothing to do with LeBron really, just your incredibly bad argument about Paul George being better than MJ.

Question for the LaSlappys- who would you want to lead you in a hypothetical life-or-death scenario?

Let's say it's the zombie apocalypse and you have to follow one of them into a horde of zombies in order to save your life. Would you follow the alpha chad MJ, who takes whet he wants and is a LEADER OF MEN......or the cowardly beta Labronne, who would sacrifice you at the first sign of trouble to save himself?

Lebron might trade you for a better zombie killer, Jordan would feed you to the zombies to get to higher ground

LeBron most likely battles through, basically, the whole zombie horde. With the last zombie left to kill, he fumbles the knife a bit, then throws the knife to you to make the kill. You're not ready/expecting it, so you drop it and as you're picking up the blade -- you get bitten. You die, and Lebron retreats back to the camp in a panic, telling everyone he made the "correct zombie battle play."

LaSlappys: Lebron faced are much tougher zombies than MJ, so it's totally OK that he pillaged our supplies and abandoned us for another group at the first sign of trouble.

Hey guys. Hope everything is going well. Missed u bunches. Had a scenario pop in my head in recent times. Wanted the poker forum bball analytics crew to weigh in. I feel we could filter out certain stats and/or sort by stuff to still make our favorite player look better, so I wanted to see how this would play out.

Hypothetically speaking, what do you guys think would happen to a player that accumulates his stats and, say, 9 straight finals appearances (going 3-6; but who cares) in a historically terrible conference, if we were to somehow gain the capability to magically transport said player onto a team in the superior conference? (This has been the basis for a lot of arguments in this thread -- somehow gaining the ability to transport LeBron into the 80's-90's where he would average 50+ ppg and win 10 rings or something like that when bball was totally different.)

This would be a very good scientific test to control for "strength of average competition".

One side has been arguing that the results of this (hypothetical) test may not look so good for a player that has been known to stat whore (likely at the expense of wins, which is why we look at team success as well to determine GOAT), particularly since he has done it in a terrible conference. Which is probably why he only won in the finals (against the superior conference) 3 times out of 9.

It's too bad this scenario could never possibly happen, as I think it would be quite interesting and would conclusively prove one side correct, imo. Since it's impossible to know for sure what would happen, should we just look at # of seasons played?

Meh, I don't think it would be that interesting and it wouldn't really prove anything. What do you think happens if we transport the Greek Freak back in time to the early 80's NBA? Does anyone not think he would dismantle the entire league?!? Does that mean he's higher than Magic or Bird on the GOAT list?

Dude has completely given up, is gonna miss the playoffs the first time he plays in a real conference, and has GM destructed yet another roster. Why does this thread still exist?

Just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Lebron went to LA and purposely built a terrible roster around him so that he could miss the playoffs. He needs to get ready for Space Jam 2, which starts filming this summer.

This is a good point and should make it clear that people are talking about different things, and using different arguments to support different definitions of _OAT. The correct formulation should be:

LeBron = BOAT
Jordan = GOAT

Vance,
I was just being sarcastic. Poking fun at earlier ultra-tarded arguments that LeBron is GOAT b/c he had some good playoff game stretches in a terrible Eastern Conference. 14 game sample sizes against 3 teams from a known historically awful conference. Yeah that makes sense. And now we see what happens when he actually plays in the good conference.

I don't think Giannis would dismantle the entire league in the early 80's, but I think he'd be quite good. I actually have LeBron ahead of him on the GOAT list, currently. Maybe I put too much weight in stats though. And I think people waaaay overstate the "increased athleticism" argument over a ~30 year time span. And Bird is super underrated. I think people remember the gimped Bird, not the 30/9/6 3x MVP Bird.
