Actually, the "argument by Barry Bonds" is extraordinarily stupid, mainly because of the existence of statistical outliers, but have fun with it.

The Warriors were the best team in the league last year, and that would have remained true even if they lost the series to Houston. Of course, they DIDN'T lose the series (apparently CP3 healthy guarantees the series even though they lost game 7 going away ...), so your point is utterly moot anyway. Great post otherwise! Wow.

Sometimes an inferior team beats a superior team. Apparently you think every time this happens the inferior team is ACTUALLY the better team.

Thankfully nobody in the history of the universe has ever said or implied this in any way!

You guys are stellar at constructing strawmen.

A team's Finals records aren't individual stats, they are team stats. We are discussing the best individual basketball players of all time. You would understand this if you weren't remarkably stupid.

They also finished ahead of them in the regular season. I realize the regular season is LOL but by all metrics when the teams were healthy the Rockets were the better team THIS SEASON

These MJ olds take the concept of a superstar in basketball being more able to single-handedly influence the result relative to other sports and extend it a billion miles to where somehow the other players on the team just don't matter, when they extremely obviously matter a whole lot.

GSW coasted very hard in the regular season and were somewhat less healthy than HOU. It's true that I don't have any data available to back up how hard they coasted, but I do have a functioning brain so I was able to understand.

But anyway, how about the metric of Vegas oddsmakers? GSW were HUGE favorites in the series despite not having homecourt. You musta made a ton of Sklansky bucks betting on that series!!

I contend that Vegas (and myself) understands context and you clowns completely blind yourself to it.

Shifting, bullpen usage, analytics, less emphasis on power.....idk wtf you're talking about.

I propose that if Kevin Durant got placed on some ****ty east coast team where they asked him to take the ball down the court and shoot half of the shots like Lechoke does he would have superior stats.

Does anyone here think MJ would have been dumb enough to punch a wall during the finals? Bad hit for Lebronzes legacy IMO.

Maybe, I doubt Durant leads his team to the ECF or finals. There are good and bad things when it comes to play on a super team. It's much easier to win titles. KD's usage went from 33 to 27 last year and back to 30 this year. A benefit is KD can't be game planned against anymore since Curry, Klay are such weapons but at the same time he has to share usage with them.

Lebron's usage only went from 30 to 31 without Kyrie this year in the regular season but up to 35% in the postseason from 31 last year. Kevin Love's usage actually dropped this year in the regular season but went up in the playoffs.

MJ punched his own teammates in the face. I'm glad he didn't hit them hard enough to break his hand or hurt his teammate.

Most ironic thing ever is your argument based completely on Jordan’s peak being higher (it isn’t), and 6-0 vs worse teams and having better teams. Standard troll. I would say show your work, but everyone knows you will just cherry pick years.

LOL at KD not getting to the finals in the LOL East

I means he's not better than LeBron but that's a dumb statement

Yeah, the only clear edge that Jordan has over Lebron is in team achievements. No all-time great level player has ever been this close to their peak still after having 15 years under their belt. So with that being said Lebron still has time to get close to MJ in team achievements. The way it is now I have Jordan ever so slightly ahead but Lebron will seriously have to just take a HUUUUGE dive and immediately to not surpass MJ by the time he's done and I really don't see that happening.

Would that mean Lebron isn't in the East? Like if he went to the Knicks, I think the Cavs are crap but the Cavs beat the KD led Knicks. Yeah if he went to the Raptors, Boston, Indy or Philly he'd crush the Cavs but the poster mentioned him going to a "crap east team" where he could crush stats.

Oh ok. I thought you were just swapping KD for LeBron in the current east. If LeBron is there and they have equally crappy rosters I still give the slight edge to LeBron team probably

Pretty debatable if MJ was even better. As far as success, yes Jordan's teams fared better in the Finals round than Lebron's but they also on average had way better teams going against way worse teams. Team success is the only thing Jordan is clearly ahead of Lebron in but even that isn't as big of a gap as people want to make it out to be.

The issue with RWB is easy. His stats are great but he isn't efficient at getting them. Lebron is insanely efficient at getting them that's why Lebron is the GOAT (or #2) and RWB just isn't. RWB is really good just needs to improve.

Yea but in a world where helping your team actually win doesn't matter who cares about efficiency? Just rogue stats are what determine the GOAT

Winning matters of course but it's a team sport where we are having a discussion of who the greatest individual player ever is. And it's not like Lebron hasn't won. He's lead his teams to 3 titles. Only 3 guys in league history have 3 or more titles and 3 Finals MVPs and he's one of them. If you want to just use zero context and say 6 > 3 then fine but that's not having a real conversation about the matter. You can either be serious about the conversation or keep trolling and using hyperbole. I know you are perfectly capable of using context though because you're able to remove Russell, his 50s-60s Celtics side kicks and Horry from the conversation just fine but you continue to be an annoying troll when it comes to using context with Lebron.

Yeah but you keep acting like Lebron doesn't win. He's won 3 titles and has been to the Finals 9 times. All this while being a dog in the Finals 7 times. He's drug a couple straight dog **** teams to the Finals. He's also ran up against historic all-time great level teams in a third of his Finals trips. Lebron is actually slightly above EV on championships once he's made it to the Finals.
