I kinda get it, but it's prize fighting. It's always at the intersection of sports and entertainment. The latter is what makes people money. Mike Tyson does exhibitions because ne wants/needs money. Same reason most of us here have some kind of day job.
Even Fury vs. Usyk, the most significant heavyweight fight this century, is mostly about money. That's why they fight in Saudi-Arabia. But sports is at least another very important component in that one. There's zero significance when it comes to Tyson vs. Paul. For boxing as a sport that fight means as much as a fight between Taylor Swift vs. Selena Gomez. The latter would generate an absurd amount of revenue, too.
