The French actually were a little unlucky. If the roads had gone bad before that last climb they could have stopped the race at the foot of the hill, cancelled the last stage due to adverse weather and announced a national holiday all before tea time.

The weather ruined it, not much the organizers can do when roads are blocked by landslides.

This is surprisingly good. The pace is so high. Not sure how much time can be won. Probably Ineos 1/2 and Stevie on the podium but maybe Buchmann can do something.

Find it hard to believe Bernal did not even try to win the stage (he didnt win it yday) and the climbing jersey. Based on the last two days he could have without a problem

yeah that ending sucked big time. somebody should have gone for something. buchmann most of all. he gave it a half-hearted attempt way too late. no ambition from kruiswijk either.

Don't think Buchman could do anything, likely he just didn't have the legs to be able to get out.

I find it way more strange that Bernal just stayed there when all he needed was to finish 2nd to get the climbing jersey. He gained 15sec on Nibali in the last kilometer alone

quintana was also getting the polka jersey by getting 2nd/3rd but valverde/landa made sure it didnt happen by attacking 500m before the line for some reason

Didn’t seem like Jumbo tactics had any hope of accomplishing anything other than dropping Alaphilippe which was happening regardless. Disappointing that SK never attacked.
