What's the story behind the car crash? Seems unnecessary and strange no matter what angle you take with this.

Could have been the kill scene, but he/they realized a death by a car accident would be really easy to verify/look up?

Why include it at all then? When was it? Maybe he needed time for a test/paper? If he's not in on it maybe it was supposed to be a weekend they would meet? Doesn't make sense.

Also, if you've been known someone for 3 years, with at least 6 months being in an exclusive relationship at least to you, and they were about to DIE OF ****ING CANCER there is no way you don't try to meet her finally. Just don't buy it. No explanation. He could have flown to California on the weekend of Sept 29, 2012 as ND was on a bye week. Makes zero sense.

I'm no psychiatrist or anything but it's an interesting theory

The timing of the 2 deaths now makes me believe he's in on it, unless like someone said the person or people involved truly despised Te'o and wanted to try and kick him when he was down.

Grandma dies and then your GF back to back, America eats that story up 8 days of the week. If he was looking for the sympathy push he sure as hell got it.
