If we believe Manti lied, the hype of him overcoming this adversity of a dead gf almost won him the Heisman. If this lie never took place, Manti probably wouldn't even have been a Heisman finalist. This is why we are upset.

Grunching, but htf is this explained by him being gay. He's the team captain at ND. Sooooo much easier to just get a real girlfriend regardless of sexual preference. The Jesus freak thing makes it even easier to keep it plausible.
