So Manti knew nothing, broke up with Lennay two weeks before she died, and the day before or of her death said he never wanted to speak to her again. But then once she died was happy to give interview after interview about losing the love of his life.

It is looking to me like Manti was indeed duped, but also that he is a scumbag and attention whore.
