There are plenty of people in the NFL that have done worse or more criminal things than him. It's not like what he did was illegal/violent. Misleading or even possibly manipulating? Absolutely.

Look I think we've all come to the conclusion that Te'o is a freak and a very weird dude. But if he has an excellent combine, it will be hard for GMs to pass him up. A marginal combine, however, and his draft stock will be in freefall.

Fair enough. I will say that any damages he did to anybody were miniscule, even if a large fraction of the country knew about the original story. The silver lining is that sports reporting will be a lot more accurate/fact checked now, rather than everybody running with sensational stories without checking them. I think most people, in the end, will have a decent laugh at how ridiculous this whole scenario has become.
