So assuming Te'o was duped the whole time that means Ronaiah is homosexual, probably closeted IRL.

Also not a chance any of them were in Miami during BCS championship game. They sent generic pictures of the hotel and hotel lobby.

He was probably talking to Ronaiah 99% of the time via text and Facebook chat and probably rarely had phone interactions during the relationship. When he did have phone interactions it was probably the cousin. FFS Te'o isn't really even able to tell if it's Lennay's voice on the phone when she calls returned from the grave. Impossible if you talked to her every day, even for just 20 mins, for 6 months straight.

Yeah, but do we even know what the girl on the phone looks like yet? and, if we don't why not?

It never ends. And, the timing of each development makes it an elite story over the last 20 years at least.

You know, we're missing the big point of this discussion. How bold is Manti Te'o for having a stance of "I don't like cancer"? What a trooper.

Should be easy enough to find out who Manti was talking to if one of Ronaiah's cousins has leukemia and the girl actually "knew cancer lingo" on the phone with his mom.

I'm def in this camp now after getting up to date with the recent developments:

-Ronaiah is a closeted homosexual (probably due to his religion + culture) who catfishes dudes regularly. Probably had 10+ "relationships" going on as recent as 3 years ago. He does this to fulfill his desires.

-Te'o was completely duped. He was never in love with Lennay, but enjoyed the online interactions and liked the idea of someone across the country being obsessed with him. He's clearly a narcissist. They talk on the phone a few brief times. Not to the extent he says.

-His friends/teammates know of the "relationship" but think nothing of it. They've never seen her and he's not on the phone with her a lot so it's a non issue. They assume it's an incredibly minor part of his life. He's not leaving bars on guys nights to take calls from her etc.

- She "dies" and he tells his friends/teammates as a natural reaction. They tell coaches. Media finds out. Media has "girlfriend of Te'o dies of cancer" and nothing else. He fills in the blanks trying to look as compassionate as possible. Ronaiah kills her off because he wants max attention. Thinks it will make him love the relationship more even though it ends it. Same reason for the cancer angle. MAX ATTENTION. Ronaiah needs to get out of it what he feels like he is putting into it to be satisfied.

-Ronaiah is upset he ended it. Gets lonely. Reinitiates contact in early December.

-Te'o realizes he made so much of it up. Didn't think he'd have to answer to anyone. Realizes he's been duped, but understands how inconsistent his story is. He figured the only other person that knew the way the relationship really was was dead. Finally he realizes he can't fix it and it's going to break so he tells his parents.

-ND finds out. They take the details they want an spin a story that is ready to go if it breaks.

If Teo told a perfect story that had no flaws to then we'd have to conclude it was written by a PR guy. Because a young naive scam victim is going to be tripping over the amount of lies he's been told. Something to think about while we search for hidden symbols of homosexuality.
