Unless you assume he was in on it from the start (which is fine) that interview doesn't prove anything. He said she wrote him a bunch of letters and likely had them set to be delivered before each game. She wrote them up through the Stanford game but since she died prior to all the letters being delivered, it's "kind of creepy".
He could just be completely bull****ting, but if he was getting duped, given the other lengths this guy/guys went to, mailing some letters isn't far fetched at all.
