Major League Baseball 2019 Season-Long PEEHS Major League Baseball 2019 Season-Long PEEHS

Hello again, baseball fans! Spring Training is underway, and Opening Day is less than 3 weeks away! That means it's time for 2+2's 4th annual MLB PEEHS contest!

After finishing 3rd in 2017, Priptonite took home the hardware in 2018 and finished first! What will he do for an encore this year? Congrats to last year's podium:

1st: Priptonite
2nd: TeeJayOrTJ
3rd: MCS

Last year's thread can be found here.

Last year's thread got 57 entries, I think we can get to 75 this year!

I've never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free baseball futures contest. All you have to do is fill out answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and then you get to sit back and sweat the reveals as the season goes along.

For every question, your answer will be either correct, or incorrect. If your answer is CORRECT, then your score for that question is the # of players who chose that answer.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score will be the most popular answer (the SHEEP answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted.

We're carrying over the SHEEP penalty rule, which means that if the most popular answer is also incorrect, their pickers' score will be based off the more painful incorrect, while other incorrects' scores will be based off the most popular correct answer. If that's confusing, see last year's thread for examples.

Lowest score wins.

So the objective of the game is to be CORRECT in all your answers, and also be among the fewest participants that SELECT your correct answer.

How do I enter?

All you have to do is send me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers to the 25 questions before the season starts March 28th.

I realize that the Mariners and Athletics are playing 2 regular season games in Tokyo March 20th-21st. The stats from those games will count, and entries won't lock until the "real" Opening Day March 28, so if for example somebody steals a couple of bases, then that'll just have to go into the strategy if you consider picking one of those players for subsequent questions.

Please correctly spell first and last names for individual players, and just use team mascots for team questions.

Please refer to the team in Oakland as the Athletics (not A's) and the team in Baltimore as the Orioles (not O's.) If you answer "New York" or "Chicago" as a team, then you're going in the club.

Since we seem to go through this every year...

Not spaced (don't do this):

Astros Billy Hamilton Joey Votto Mike Trout...

Single Spaced (do this one)

Astros
Billy Hamilton
Joey Votto
Mike Trout
...

Double-spaced (don't do this)

Astros

Billy Hamilton

Joey Votto

Mike Trout

...

Once again, the previous rule "can only use the same player twice" has been removed. So if you want to answer a certain, unnamed, ichthyoid Angels center fielder for all the player questions, be my guest.

How can I gamble on this?

The contest is of course free to play and free to enter, but there will probably be an optional side bet contest like last year, if you want some money on it. Last year the entry was $10, we got 8 runners, and our overall winner Priptonite took it down.

Obviously, I can't enter the side bet, but I'll keep track of the separate sidebet leaderboard. If you enter the sidebet, you are deferring to me being sole judge, jury, and executioner for "official" scores and any scoring disputes. I also offer no warranty on whomever y'all decide will hold the money. Also insert <standard 2p2 disclaimer about gambling with strangers on the internet.>

On to the questions! All stats are from the 2019 regular season, inclusive of the date specified.

I don't plan on taking anyone from Oakland or Seattle, but are there any restrictions on new entries for players from those teams now that their seasons have started?
