I thought it was great and I know it wasn't actually that close to the first down marker but let's say he was actually within a few inches which he may have thought on that play. It cannot hurt to just do some sort of celebration that may influence the refs and help lean any close decision on their part slightly in your direction.

Also, disappointed in the loss but at least Tomlin learned from his mistakes with the clock management and timeout decisions that cost him so much time late against the Raiders. Romo was praising him on those decisions and acting as if he was a genius coach for being so aware to call them in those spots, probably unaware of how badly he managed the clock against the Raiders in basically the same exact spot.

The 1st down spike late with ~50 sec left was still really dumb though.
