Izzos press conference was pretty damning yeaterday. Did not deny anything. Refused to answer questions and just repeated that he would cooperate with any investigation and that his main concern was the survivors

This story is absolutey sickening. At least a dozen victims told someone who was supposed to help.
the victims who reported their molestation were ridiculed, blamed, brainswashed and retaliated against. its complete bs that only nasser is being blamed and prosecuted. nearly the entire athletic department and high level university execs knew about it and further persecuted the victims who came forward.

humans are sick disgusting things.

You're wrong about the first part of the bolded. More and more people are being blamed. People that were told, like the former gymnastics coach Kathie Klages for one. Word is getting out.

And it remains to be seen if anyone else gets prosecuted. It's not like this whole thing has played out yet. It may be that nobody does - a lot of activities (or in this case failures to act) are not criminal even though they may be horrifying. If that happens there should (and will imo) be a push for some changes to the law.

More importantly will the Spartans make the sweet 16 again this year?

Big Ten commish going down because he knew of the MSU issues and did virtually nothing. Maybe that is why he let pedo st off the hook so easily. They must have known about his MSU involvement.

Emmert knew of 37 sexual abuse complaints in 2010 and did absolutey nothing.

Put him in jail.

Sounds like a lack of institutional control if you ask me. Death penalty for the NCAA!

As an individual that sat down in front of Emmert in 2011 and then dealt with blackballing for 3 years due to his and his committee's decisions...I have some feelings towards this news. This is just a horrific situation and I feel for the women that had to go through what they went through.

Unbelievable...

I hope you learned your lesson not to give a Mountain Dew to a recruit or whatever equally horrible thing they were trying to punish you for when they caught you ruining the sanctity of amateur collegiate athletics. I'd love to hear more about whatever trivial or perhaps even good natured thing you did that drew their ire while evil goes on in their midst and they do nothing besides actively ignore it and cover it up.

As per documentation I am not allowed to speak on the matter outside of what was publicly available. In all honesty within the week I'll probably know if my future ever includes college football again. So I'm pretty close to not caring anymore about what happened as I am much older and wiser than 7 years ago and I have lived a lifetime since then.

Big thing was recruits wanting out of a signed commitment without penalty, CCU basketball program had some shady things going on, Women's golf just off probation, CCU football gets caught up because recruits speak out. Somehow I ended up in Indy for a week and a few days of meetings, last one in front of emmert and his committee, I appeal, "win" (could not pay for an interview until O'Leary said he didn't care what the NCAA said) but lose my coaching job at Georgia Southern in the process.

I was able to get into the FBS ranks later on and have chances to move on now...but I'm older and starting a family and, well, it's different than it was when I was in the mid 20's. Everything happens for a reason. But I'm just reliving something right now that I had not in years because his name came up. And it's an interesting place to be mentally.

Sometimes I think it'd make a hell of a book.

It's very hard to admit that reasonable decision making leads to unreasonable outcomes. The mob mentality is to PURGE and pretend they would never have let that happen.

Needle,
You seem like one the really good guys who posts on here and wish you all the best

Wow Needle that sucks and says a lot about why people shun investigations. I bet there's just enormous amounts of insular favoritism at every step. So you are done with that business or are back in it?

I was one who made those claims - it's the same type of people in the same environment at these places - some just get tested and fail - the others don't pass - they just haven't got tested.

Unreal story by a reporter on npr. He said that John geddert, who was a coach that worked closely with Nassar for decades, actually walked in on Nassar "digitally penetrating" and said "wow your back must really hurt."

Kudos to that reporter, and I hope he gets that at every presser until he quits or is fired. Or jailed.
