As someone who doesnt give a **** about Mexico the thread isnt deserved. They played very well throughout the tournament and earned a lot of respect. Cant be said about the US yet.

If the USA tied Brazil for the group lead with 7pts, including a tie with Brazil in Brazil, losing GD due to two stolen goals, and then barely lost at the end in R16 against a team that looked like one of the 4 best in the tourney during group play, we would be ****ING ECSTATIC at the progress our team had made. But hey, let's all LOL at Mexico for doing just that. It's ok because we believe they would do the same to us? Really? #wearebetterthanthat.

Cruizn will jump on that for implying Mexico is ahead of the US.

Yeah the hashtag is lame, but SJ is basically saying hey, that's just how they are with an implicit justification that we should either be the same, or that it's silly to root for them. At any rate, I can say pretty confidently it's not how they all are.

I'm done, but this wasn't an LOL worthy cup for them. It is a much better ending the the cup than the US performance against Ghana last cup, for example, and a favorite to be a better performance than ours against Belgium.

That said, I believe.

I may be nuts and a football nub but http://www.fifa.com/worldranking/rankingtable/ FIFA world rankings actually has USA in 13th place with 1035 points vs. Mexico's in 20th place with 882 points?

I mean, we don't have to 'believe' it, that is what they do. We did win our WC qualifying group, we won the Gold Cup, we got to the finals of the Confed Cup beating Spain in the process and post after post after post is how none of that matters. We were 30 seconds from surviving the group of death EARLY. Ra Z Boy outright said winning the whole thing would not change anybody's perception of us because lolvariance. What choice do I have?

Yeah, any team/individual in any sport who blew a win in comparable fashion in a big game would get an "LOL ____" thread. Didn't Michael Bradley get one after the Portugal match?
