Yeah, I think the time has time to cut their losses and move on from the Lebron takeover. They almost certainly are not winning anything this year, and Lebron still has quite bit of value to a contender. Force somebody to take RwB in the deal, get your picks back (or better maybe), free up cap space and start building a team again.

oh yeah for sure, occam's razor is that kyrie has spent like a decade being a flat-earther, anivaxxer, and now antisemitic so that he could somehow force a trade to the lakers in the year of our lord 2022. i'm sure that the nets are absolutely itching to trade him for a guy making $10m more who's been a negative player for at least 2 years, and that kyrie will be welcomed with open arms in los angeles. it's so obvious

i could see him signing there as a free agent next summer though

When you want to get out of dodge but can't, you might do some interesting things. It's not as if he hasn't had a year+ to think about it.

His COVID stance was actually a win, as he got NYC to carve out a special exemption for "entertainers", while everybody else had to deal with it.
