The Lakers were never going to win today's game. They've been awful in day games all year and especially awful in Sunday day games.

With that said the Lakers will be lucky to get more than a game in this series. Duncan and Dwight cancel each other out. (This matchup was the key to to the Lakers having any shot IMHO. Dwight was going to have to be noticeably better than Timmay and it just doesn't look like that's going to happen. Other ways the Lakers could have hoped to compete were if Parker was crippled and Nash somehow turned into MVP Nash of old but it's clear at this point that's not going to happen either.)

For some reason the Lakers turn the ball over at a ridiculous rate. Dwight has trouble catching the ball, he's often being held but whatever, and the Lakers have been awful at throwing effective entry passes for years now. They had trouble getting good entry passes to Bynum and now the same problem with Dwight. The Lakers other problem is they just can't shoot the damn basketball worth a damn. They get plenty of wide open looks but just can't hit them with any sort of consistsency. In other words they're just bad at basketball and don't have the athleticism to make up for their shortcomings.

They did only give up 91 points today which is pretty amazing considering the Lakers play Pau, Nash and Blake significant minutes so there is some promise in that regard but their lack of consistent perimeter play is going to be what ultimately does them in this series.

Are you guys ready for another Heat vs OKC NBA finals?

Game one was a pretty clear example of why you see Kobe go into hero/chuck mode so often. Dwight was 8-12 but everybody else's shooting percentage was under .500.

That's power posting.

Also, as Cald certainly knows, that there was a scheduling loss. Shame on the NBA really.

Sigh. Now if the Lakers ship, the haters will just be like "lol Blake! The Lakers are better without him!"

Also, Jordan Hill is a pretty credible back up. And have you not noticed Steve Blake going off or do you even watch Laker games?
