Yeah, because 30-40% of people have forgotten about Lady Gaga. And oh yeah, what about Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears? We've all forgotten about them haven't we.

if anyone theoretically bought imaginary black eyed peas stock at 50 dollars a share that same stock plummeted to five dollars a share overnight, its truly amazing.

Imo Usher was clearly the only cool part of the show. His dancing skills are ****ing sick, but his filthy moves only made it more obvious how bad the BEP's sucked

Contemporary, possibly controversial:

Jay-Z/Beyonce
Kanye
Eminem
Gaga
Kesha

Contemporary, non-controversial
Taylor Swift
Katy Perry
Sugarland
Bieber
Carrie Underwood
Lady Antebellum

Slightly Obscure/still successful artists
Arcade Fire
The Decemberists
Vampire Weekend

It's on NBC next year, right? Just pull double duty and have Faith Hill/Tim Mcgraw do it (LOL)

Hmm. See, I kinda thought this would be the year for a big-time country act, being in Dallas and all.

Someone in SB thread suggested Daft Punk, which would be cool even though they are French.

+1, and it goes beyond that because none of them have had BOTH the commercial and critical success of Ke$ha. She's here to stay.

I got an even better idea. How about an ensemble hip hop show where each group/artist gets one song?

1. Wu-Tang
2. Necro
3. Atmosphere
4. Blackalicious
5. Jedi Mind Tricks
6. Lil Blaze
7. Ke$ha

Daft Punk would never do it though. I find it very hard to believe BEP didn't get paid for the gig, would just be a terrible decision by everyone associated with them for such.
Vampire Weekend/Decemberists, despite having #1 albums this year and selling more then half the artists you listed above them aren't grandiose enough for the SB. They're barely sub headliners at festivals. At least Arcade Fire has been constantly playing for 50,000 person crowds all year.

Jay Z/Beyonce or Kanye would be awesome, but especially with Kanye's grammy faux pas I can't see him getting a SB gig.

It would be fun to see some weird mashup of artists like Deadmau5 and Katy Perry or something though.

Yeah, I don't REALLY think vampire weekend or the decemberists could pull it off

I just don't see it as likely any band at/near their peak will do the SB unless they get some outrageous offer. The Killers/Coldplay/Muse etc seem possible, but I just don't see it.

Coldplay seems like a good fit.

JayZ/Beyonce also seems like a great fit - especially for the NY one in a few years.

Also lol Nickleback, just no. Rather see BEP again

Yes

I think Taylor Swift + Ke$ha would be total baller. And you could throw Nicki Minaj & Katy Perry in there and make it a girl supershow. I don't see how that could end badly.
