BEP is a safe selection since for some reason they appeal to a lot of people. agreed nfl is conservative but it seems completely overblown. its the superbowl. ppl arent gonna not watch the freakin super bowl.

Half-time Show not Americanized enough imo.

Need to have a mini-reality moment, so you can text DORITOS2 and pick the Budweiser singer of the night.

The band also known as Jefferson Airplane. Or just Starship.

You know their music. Think about it... or go ask Alice. Or Sara. After all, nothing's gonna stop us now.

Totally agree that that **** is amazing, except with one caveat: one time (I think it was at a Pro Bowl) the guy who had to make the $1 million kick was actually like a semi-pro soccer player and he nailed the **** out of it. Which was just as awesome in its own way, like the time the guy on Millionaire used the phone-a-friend to brag that he was about to drill the million dollar question.

Seems like if you're going to put some dance/pop/top40 act up there for halftime, at least make it a good dance/pop/top40 act. They just put out two records everyone seems to dislike. We're talking about the ****ing Superbowl. Michael Jackson. Prince. U2. The Boss. They should be able to get about anybody they want.

I'm not an Usher fan, but why was he a guest act? BEP are like a bunch of backup dancers compared to him. And Slash, why? Though I'm pretty sure there are like 40 Slashes that go around making appearances (actual Slash is fat and retired to Bermuda in like 2002).

usher has a top 10 song of all time (dj got us falling in love again) and a top 100 song of all time (more). I wasn't a fan of his earlier work but he has clearly become elite.

My point was that he would have made more sense as the main act, relative to the BEP.

Again I hate his music, but at least he can sing live and not sound like ass.

Sorry, not a fan of the same old R&B they've been doing since the 70s.

same old r&b that has gone on since the 70s? wat? first off, not even speaking strictly on r&b, but these past 2-3 years have probably been the best 2-3 year stretch in music history (only debatable argument is 90s rap). It's beyond clear music is currently in the golden age.

We have had top 100 songs of all time produced left and right, Ke$ha - We r who we r, Usher - Dj Got Us Falling In Love, Nelly - Just a dream, Taio Cruz - Dynamite, Flo Rida - Club can't handle me, Flo Rida - Whos that girl, Jay Sean - Down, Fabolous - It's my time and many many moar that i'm far too lazy to list.

If you say so. My niece would agree with you but I don't. To me it was annoying background **** that you only tolerated because the club you happened to be in was playing it. Now it's a staple of popular radio, which of course is such a great measure of talent. If this is a golden age because of R&B I hope it ends quickly.

I agree with your list Epi, apart from Dynamite, which is a 1/10 song (only surpassed in WOATness by Boom Boom Pow, I Gotta Feeling and The Time [Dirty Bit.])

I remember reading an issue of Guitar World where Slash said he hated Sweet Child of Mine and thought it had the dumbest riff he ever wrote. Maybe that explains why he was cool with going up there and having Fergie molest it.

The sound quality was pretty bad...and the pure singing voices were not very good. Even if you're a fan of the BEP music, I don't see how you couldn't be disappointed with the performance.

while i have made a good amount of non serious posts, the post u quoted was 100% serious, massive fail for u to think it was a level.

in another serious matter to discuss, whitegoose is on pace for goat status, i'd compare him to michael jordan when he first entered the league. him bashing taio cruz - dynamite was the first slip up i've seen among his countless incredible posts so far but even jordan wasn't perfect. I just hope he doesn't miss his 2nd season with an injury like jordan did.

The story was it started out as a joke, remember how people back then were all into acrobatic guitar crap and skipping strings was one of those things like fast arpeggios and tapping and whatnot. He was doing it and someone heard it, boom millions. I prob have the issue you're talking about still in the house pr garage somewhere

It was GFTPM

""Sweet Child O' Mine" was a joke. It was a fluke. I was sitting around making funny faces and acting like an idiot and played that riff. Izzy started playing the chords that I was playing, strumming them, and all of a sudden Axl really liked it. I hated that song because it was so stupid at first. I hated the guitar part. Now I really like it because I've gotten it to the point where it sounds really good when I play it live, and I'm so used to the song so I like it a lot more. But it definitely wasn't something I hummed out in my head. It was more like me ****ing around with the guitar. "
