Meh, I've seen Metallica on their last 2 tours. If you want to continue the streak of "mediocre popular act and ensemble" or "band most people will have heard of, but peaked 20 years ago," go ahead. But I've seen almost 50 acts since Metallica which was like 18 months ago and they would be in the bottom 5, along with Tool and I had very high expectations for both.

Starting this thread after the game is way worse than people who complained about the show while it was happening.

The show was awful btw. Black Eyed Peas are awful and Fergie is fugly. I didn't realize this was a rogue set of opinions.

get rid of the musical performances that everyone seems to always hate and go with some sure winners like a mascot game or people kicking FGs/throwing balls into a can for a million bucks

i'm sure there are times that 95% of people who believe something are wrong, but i don't think this is one of those times. nearly everything i've read everywhere has agreed that the show was bad.

in its defense - the sound guys totally screwed up. that guy fergie's mic wasn't on for at least the first 15+ seconds of the first song. it must be very tough to get the sound quality up to concert standards on that makeshift stage that they have 5 minutes to setup on the field.

my biggest complaint was that i feel like those songs are a bit overplayed and that they've been around forever.

and that the steelers played like dogisht.

The NFL would never go for this, as the owners would justifiably fear personal liability for the mass suicides that would inevitably follow.

Sufjan Stevens? LOLOLOL.

Whoever was mixing the sound very obviously screwed up several times. My SB party was all surprised at how noticeable it was for a production that costs as much as the SB halftime show.

As for the halftime show itself I thought it was fine and certainly a lot better than The Who last year.

I don't think there's anyone who has ever turned off the television when some redneck from the South lines up to kick a 40 yard field goal for a million bucks. It's never anyone with any experience kicking anything either, I don't think a single person picked for those contests has ever seen a soccer ball in real life. Throwing into a giant can is significantly worse just for that reason alone, everyone has thrown something before, especially at the ******** distances that they use today.

I'm a sucker for watching someone throw the ball through the can or try a FG. FG's are a better choice because they raise the chances of massive fail and thus lol's.

i dont know about that, and itll never happen anyway. The nfl (especially after the janet jackson fiasco) is really conservative on who they are going to choose. They arent going to make a risky selection that could be controverisal or alienate some fans in the most watched event of the year. BEP is a safe selection since for some reason they appeal to a lot of people. It is sort of hip/hop r and b so young people can get on board (although again im not a fan), its not so hardcore that itll turn off parents and old people.

Are the BEPs even that popular now to justify how bad they were? Everyone has heard of them, but their recent album will end up selling less then bands like The Decemberists or anything else "indie" WhiteGoose will mock for debuting above The Beginning.
