The new regulations might make close racing possible, they also have allowed RB to become untouchable. They dominate even more this year than Mercedes did in their time.
Can we go back to 2021 pretty please and have a battle on our hands between Mercedes and RB.
Alonso has a good enough car he will find a way to win one.

Yeah he needs a track with no straights. Maybe Hungrary is his only chance

I would think Singapore is an even better chance for Alonso. Maybe one of the sprint weekends as well as Verstappen sometimes struggles with getting the correct setup with only one practice session. Better chances late in the season when the RedBul penalty will hopefully start to show with less upgrades.

Saturday 85% of rain during qualification. Sunday 75% chance of rain.

I'm all for it

Checo & George out in Q2.

Checo better drive well tomorrow, Helmut not the most patience man.

Jesus, Verstappen half a second better than the entire field. Race winner is already decided, but the rest of the racing could be awesome with the shuffled order.

More nuts is that was the first run. 2nd run would’ve been even faster but was not needed lol.

Surely Red bull should drop checo for Dan?

Think Dan is only around as an emergency spare tire. Have him around as backup, do some marketing etc..

He’s not much of an upgrade to Checo imo.

If Checo podiums today or scores big points, he’ll be alright. If not, it’s back to back crap performances and that’s not good even if you bring tons of Mexican sponsor money.
The car’s so superior compared to the field.

Yeah another 20sec+ win. Zero moments of threat, not exciting. Nothing to sweat.

Brundle’s grid walk struggles to find celebs to talk to was more entertaining.

Rosberg is a good addition to Sky. Too bad he’s not in regular rotation.

Very mundane race, 6th career hat trick for Max.

FIA should give Max the championship now, then force-swap Checo and Alonso for the rest of the year. The other 18 guys can keep racing too if they want I guess.

Have Max start from the pits every race. He'll still probably win at least half the races but it will be much more interesting.

This is reminding me of a few years ago when Merc would finish 1,2 almost every race and 3rd place would finish a minute behind them.

16th Red Bull win in the past 17 races

biggest puzzle for me is how slow Charles was all weekend. Sainz wasn't lightning fast but I would have expected Charles to move through the field more effectively

I cannot listen to Sky. Their British bias is unbearable to the non-British ear. And not only in F1

Team: Max you've got your third warning for track limits. Next time is a penalty. We're 18 sec. ahead of Lewis. No risks please.

Max: Whats Fastest lap?

Team: 1:16:6 from Checo on new Softs and with DRS.

*Max Rattles off a 1:16:3 on worn tires by himself*

Team: OK Max, now please bring it home between the lines.

Max, presumably annoyed by their insolence: yeah yeah.

Max just out there doing side quests because he's bored...

Can't blame him, if you're a competitor and you're not competing with others, I find it rather normal you want to compete with yourself.

For the record, I believe he asked what was his own fastest lap and he got told 17.2 which he beat by almost one full second on old tyres. I find it mind-boggling you can just put 1sec into your best lap on worse tyres just because you want to

They tell him it was Checo then also his time. Max just knows he's got way more pace in the car and don't give a ****

The changes to Barcelona made it easier for him too.

What we are seeing these days if anyone knows is the dominance or at least equal competing with Mercedes from 2014 to 2020 if Red bull had the best engine that they do now - they have always had a very good chassis so combine that with now having the best engine in the pit lane and you get this perfect storm of results for them. We are truly seeing the best of the best and better than any year that Mercedes won.

Spain told us again, that Ferrari has a huge tire wear problem.
Leclerc pitted earlier with the hards than other drivers, that were running softs.

I don't think it comes with any surprise regarding where Ferrari seems to derive most of its speed from which is through the corners so is working its tyres more - Red bull gets its speed aerodynamically down the straights mainly and therefore uses its tyres less
