Pretty sure all the teams are already focused on next year. So don't expect any changes in the remaining races

Fun qualifying and sets up the race nicely. Doesn’t seem to be much between the top 4 manufacturers, at least in Quali

Looks like RedBull has the same advantage as before which is a lot less tire degradation. This doesn't help RB much in qualifying but should make it difficult to keep Max behind over race distance.

zzz Sprint

Somewhat interesting that the top 4 was 4 different cars. The #1 driver for each team showing why they’re the #1

Have no idea what Adrian Newey makes but he’s underpaid.

This man can probably single-handedly turn a bottom tier team into top five.

Read online that the 2024 Redball car is even more dominant. Wow if true

If Max drives for Haas next year, they will improve slightly but if Newey were to jump ship, I believe they’d easily be a top 5 team.

terrible from Merc re pit stops

merc pit might've worked out nicely if max had spent a load of time trying to get past the mclaren, something norris was incentivised to achieve given the various tyre strategies

but that was a feeble effort from norris. race was there to win on a 1 stop if he could've just defended for 6 or 7 laps

lewis should have this if he can end the race on these tyres

max on hards vs lewis on mediums

max with 7 seconds in hand, lewis' tyres 3 laps newer. max seems to have janky brakes

two losers in between them

safety car now would be great

nice to see max struggle a bit at least

50 career wins. prost, schu, lewis, seb, max

what did Lewis lose from the 4 lap delay in pitting...10 secs?

yeah i think they thought a 1 stop might work at that point, probably lost him the race in hindsight

Imagine Lewis on the right pit stop strategy and with competetive pit stop times and then losing the win to a DSQ. The conspiracy theories would not stop. In reality not sure if Hamilton could have won even with better pitstops and strategy. Catching up to Verstappen is still a very different story than being able to pass him.

Each one of Lewis's pit times were 1 second longer than Max's. I honestly feel if Merc matched the pit times we would have had a great finish. Although none of this matters now with the DQ.

I really think Red bull has been in cruise mode with this car with very little upgrades to it and focusing their full efforts on next car. They can afford to have this sort of program where they can shut down their current year and focus on next year's car much earlier than their rivals.

Not sure it would be that much as that is a pretty big chunk out of their salary cap.

Worth every single cent and more imo.

For ultrarich billionaires that own F1 teams as a toy such as Lawrence stroll, I would throw all the money I can to poach a brain like Adrian Newey.

Hiring a man like that even at this old age can solve so many problems and save so much time.

That brain alone can instantly bring your car to be contending week in, week out.
Something that a world champion driver cannot.

Depends too on how the other teams treat their main chief engineers I suppose and whether they are included in the salary cap.

Not going to happen now at the stage of his career. He has been on the brink of retiring ever since really 2019/2020 but Red bull kept him going. Also there would be a major IP issue if he did leave where he would have trouble using his ideas at a different team because Red bull would own it all so it is easier for him to keep revising his existing design base rather than beginning from scratch again.

The salary cap doesn't include the drivers, and 3 other salaries.

And now a lot of people who work for the companies no longer work for the racing team

I seriously doubt there are IP issues based on other teams clearly using RedBull inspired designs after poaching RedBull engineers and the famous pink Mercedes. Can't straight up copy but Newey can design from ground up a very similar car. That is why he most likely has gardening leave provisions in his contract.

I remember reading somewhere that gardening leave for key F1 guys is often 2 years or more, to ensure that no new technology advances can be transferred along with the employee moving
