Ok - take this from an old man that lived through MJ's prime and marveled at his athleticism and drive. Now I get to see LJ in his prime with his superior physical dominance and the same laser focused drive. Even though many believe you can't compare the two because of the different times - I think the comparison is simple.
MJ was simply quicker, faster and could out jump anyone on the floor. Taking over a game and outscoring teams was in his DNA. Not sure about the assist stats but I don't remember him giving up the ball very often. He could rebound when necessary, but he was often simply ready for the outlet from the bigs. And the dude could play D.
LJ is simply a physical specimen. He can play big or he can play small. He will beat whoever you put on him. He changes his game to fit the needs of any particular game situation. He is probably the best "big" passer since Magic. He can stick a guard or forward. He simply does it all.
As a non-expert on the game I really can't see how anyone would take MJ to start a team instead of LJ. Could you win with either - obviously you would. But would you rather take a European super car with 4 speeds or one with 5?
