I feel like the significance of that also fades quite a bit as you get further from the goal line. Like it's only when you leave a team inside the 2-3 that the odds of a safety become statistically significant, as well as the leading team having the attitude of "just don't make any mistakes and make enough room for the punter" that leads to lower first down chances. And inside the 3 is where it's gonna be a no-brainer to go for it anyway so there's no debate.

I never thought I would be cool with people throwing debris onto the field in a stadium, but I'll pay all their fines for that one!

I have vague memories of a coach running a play in this spot, once or twice between NFL and NCAA, but it's definitely the only time I've seen one get punished for it.

I also like how the WR got BEHIND THE DEFENSE on the last second play from like midfield. I mean...

Yes. The play is shown dozens of times a season when other stupid things happen in the NFL and the fact that its that Herm is always mentioned. He was very well known for this before he got into coaching and TV.
