Sometimes people make mistakes...hoodie makes mistakes...and he gets called out on it. And its not like its SUPER rare he makes them actually...few times a year, but whatever. He still produces because he has such great edges in a lot of other aspects.
Now these ****ing idiots keeping their jobs who make many worse in game decisions while also being mediocre (Fischer, Payton, Marvin, PAGANO!) makes no sense. I'm all for giving guys a little rope as you need people to feel secure in their job in order to have confidence to gamble occasionally, but good lord several laugh outloud decisions made every week sometimes by the same ****ing coaching staff.
Hell, Ive even argued in my own head like...well it is moving very fast down on the field....lots of pressure....i might be willing to give them a blunder a game. But a lot of these ****s should have gotten the boot a long time ago. Then a good reporter wants to ask them to explain their **** up, and get them to admit they made a mistake and they won't even let them back in the media room anymore. Pussies
Football/sports coaching/management is unlike any other job in world. Especially when you consider the $ involved. In pretty much every working field in the universe you are held accountable. But football coaches, who make millions of dollars a year, are somehow not only
not held accountable, but they are constantly given passes for blowing the simplest decisions while given credit for something they have no control over. Like punting on 4th & 1, trusting the defense, and the returner muffs the punt- "THAT'S WHY YOU PUNT JOHN".
Last night the Giants were down 14-7 with 3 timeouts, 1:10 left, and the Lions had the ball on 4th & ~5 from the 39. It was clear they were going to attempt a 56 yard FG. McAdoo didn't use one of his timeouts, so the Lions obv let the clock run, and Prater made the fg with like 30 seconds left. Then the Giants got the ball back, they ran a running play (risking fumble/injury) that gained 9 yards and ran into the locker room with all 3 of their timeouts. This type of idiotic **** happens in every game every week and nobody says anything. It's insane.

This is a ridiculous defense of coaches (or anything in general). So if I were to ask McAdoo why he sat on his timeouts, or why he ran that play (rather than knee it) when it was clear he had no intention of trying to score, it would be reasonable for him to get super defensive and point out I wouldn't optimally know how to design a tackling drill in practice rather than answer the question?
