Don't think this is what happened.

They had punt return team out.. I think its very likely they saw signs of a fake and were unprepared.

The fact CIN went for it makes this more likely in my mind.

Arguing with a non poker player about kicking an extra point vs 2 point conversion. I said for argument sake let's say 2 point conversions are league wide 63% what is the right call? And he says well extra points are 99% so that math makes sense. Can someone run the math 99% of the time I get 1 point vs 63% of the time I convert the 2.

No idea if Kubiak "saw something" before calling that timeout or not.

But Marvin Lewis was legit awful today. He called a super-conservative gameplan, even when they needed to be agressive. And his 2 challenges were absolutely awful, no other way to slice it.

It's like his gameplan was for Cedric Benson to "bust one" against one of the best defenses in the league. One of the few times I've ever seen another coach less prepared than Kubiak and less able to make adjustments. And more awful at challenges. Why did he even have his team take the field?

Really, you could make a very strong case that Kubiak challenging>Kubiak calling timeout if he was calling TO purely because he saw something. Im fairly sure he would have lost the challenge, but at the point where you have any sort of shot at winning a challenge and it's the second half and you still have both challenges, as long as you're gonna call timeout you might as well just throw the red flag. If he thought Cincy was going to punt then calling timeout was obviously horrible.
It would have been hard for Marvin Lewis to make himself look much more incompetent than he did today.
