So the kid BEASTED today, prob had like 20 (we don't keep score but the kids of course keep it themselves) of an alleged 34. Also threw the ball at the other ref and got yelled at by both of us, so he started moping again. Weird kid.

Mehhh, of course there are some parents like that but they are the minority. I very much wanted to play football as a kid. And I would say most of the kids on my pop warner teams did too. Then again there wasn't a youth football backlash in the late 80s and early 90s like there is now with new concussion findings. My parents only signed me up for sports I asked to play. I remember asking my dad when I was in high school why he never signed me up for little league baseball and he said "you never asked to play baseball". "ohh, okay"

BUMP

The kid played alright today but he had a MOMENT OF REALNESS with the other coach/ref. That coach was always yelling at his team that my kid who keeps it very real was gonna "miss the first one," which was coach's way of telling his kids to rebound. My kid did not appreciate this. So he gets a fast break and makes the first one while coach is yelling that he's gonna miss.

Kid - I am not kidding - holds his hands out like a praying mantis and yells "WHAT NOW? I MADE THE FIRST ONE!" while STEPPING straight at the coach.

Phenomenal.

Played poker all night. Guy said he had to go. Coaching his son's soccer game in a few hours. I asked, "What's the spread?" He said, "a lot."

We settled on +7.5 for $40. Next week I played with him again.

Me: How did the game go
Him: Did I get 7.5 or 17.5?
Me: LOL

Picture day tomorrow. I expect more than half my team will show up late. I have 9 players on my team, 3 showed up besides my kids. Blake last 1 inning this past game before he ran off the field and couldn't be talked into finishing, so we played with 4 lol.

My team is hitting the piss out of the ball, compared to these other teams anyways. I probably give them triple the swings that most other teams give their players on practice. Very fast paced.

Look forward to getting a text in the morning from the other brother/sister combo on the team to confirm game time, to have them not show up again.

This is great. Bush league parents/coaches need to be put in their place.

There was an opponent of my daughter's club volleyball team that consistently yelled during the opponent's serve. Some opponent's, when the server tosses the ball in the air, they'll have one player remind the others to pay attention by saying, "Ball's up!" This particular team has every single player yell "Ball's Up" really loudly during our serve. Extremely annoying. Apparently, some refs will tell them to stop, but most won't. So they do that to try to gain advantage every time they play. Funny thing is, this team kind of sucks, so it's not like it's an elite team trying to eke the last inch of advantage. They are a bad team trying to get an advantage over other bad teams. Way to teach sportsmanship to 13-year olds, coach!

Funny thing is, I asked some of our players about it, most didn't notice it because they are focused on the game. It's only annoying to the parents..

Had 8 of 9 players show up for pictures, I was stunned.

Blake didn't last long enough to participate in the game, he ran away and had to be chased down then sent home. Most disturbingly, Cadence quit the game in inning 2 of 3 today, citing generally fatigue and sweat running into her eyes. I'll chalk this one up to all the kids attention spans being used up during the picture process.

Had back2back2back hitters hit the ball to the outfield today, first time all year. My team is ****ing stinging the ball lately and putting these other t-ball teams to shame.

Also, not exactly fitting the criteria of this thread, but my brother plays college ball at Davenport, and they made the NAIA World Series the other day. Should be a fun week of sweats upcoming.

My son who is now 5 has done some taekwondo, but has settled on tennis as his sport. He wants to start basketball as well, but is making huge strides in tennis and we're looking forward to summer camps.

When he first started he could barely make contact with the ball, but now he's started to rally a little bit. It's awesome to see.

Witnessed a very ugly scene at a spring 12U hockey game today. One of my son's teammates full on punched a female opposing player in the face like 3 times while grabbing her jersey with his other hand. She went down, she was balling crying, just terrible. My sons team was winning 7-0 with about 3 minutes left so the ejection didn't even hurt his team.

In his defense she had been checking him from behind the whole game. The last straw was when she hit him from behind when he was standing still a full second after the whistle. The mom's both had to be physically restrained from going at it, alot of F bombs in front of the kids. Ugly

Does the fact that she plays hockey trump the fact that she's a girl? Legit question. Feels ugly on all sides. I can see myself going ham in the same situation as an 11 year old.
