Beat Marietta 8-6, onto the 2nd grade super bowl vs hillgrove (team hasn't lost all season and hasn't even been scored on).

Just glad the kids made it to the championship game and hope we put up a good fight which I think we will.

He did not stop growing; he's now 16 and 6ft5. He's taken up football instead. Too bad we live in Canada where football isn't important

Looks like he went undrafted and off to college

Nate was ranked top 10 by Perfect Game most of his HS career, but started dropping near the end. He ended up ranked #44 overall. The shortened Covid draft killed him as most HS players were offered under slot. He attended Arkansas and looked like he developed some anxiety with some form of the yips. He transferred to San Jac and didn't pitch much there. I think he is still there but throwing low 90's and wild. He was consistently 95-97 in high school. Also shows how much changes. Another kid in Oklahoma that we beat a few times kept getting better and ended up as a 1st rounder that year.

Wow, your son is a beast. Football was probably a good decision.

Daughter' ended her sports career last week. Lost in the quarterfinals and I don't recall the scores of the two sets we won, but we lost set two 26-24, set four 25-23 and 15-13 in the final set. Tough way to lose and it was a mild upset. She had a great year and should get all conference but has zero interest in playing in college.

Son signed with Grand Canyon for baseball out of JUCO. They have made the NCAA tournament the last two years and should be pretty good this year.

Shout out to OP who was clearly mentally ill 10 years ago based on his posts in SE, who is now just another 30 something right wing nutjob, spouting every right wing talking point 24/7.

I’ve posted this before…. This is one of my favorite HS football pictures.

Here’s future NFL Hall of Famer Jonathan Ogden playing high school football at 6’8, 325

Yeah, just run it behind that guy.

we ended up 11-0 (including playoffs) and won the 3rd grade 6A superbowl. Sucks we had to drop down from 7A because we split teams.

outscored opponents 312-32

I had my most exciting moment as a sports fan today. My high school sophomore nephew began the season taking the starting quarterback spot for an undefeated defending state championship team. I was pretty nervous for him as this program had only lost 3 games over the previous 3 years. All he did was go 15-0 leading the team to another state title passing for 4,200 yards with 55 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. The kid has a legit shot of breaking the state career TD pass record of 142 if he stays healthy.

That’s incredible, and likely to catch the eye of quite a few big time scouts and college programs

Indianapolis Lutheran. They are in Class 1A, the lowest enrollment of six classes, but play some 3A and 4A schools. MaxPreps and Sagarin had them ranked 20th and 9th respectively in all classes statewide which is pretty amazing for a school with an enrollment of about 250. They had a running clock in the majority of the 2nd halves of games because they were up so much, so he often didn't play more than one series in the 2nd half. I think he'd be a top qb even in 6A, but I'm happy where he's at even if it'll lead to fewer college offers. It's cool looking across the bleachers and knowing the families of most of the players. He attended a private Christian school for elementary and middle school and had to transfer to Lutheran as his previous school's high school had no football program. It's been great seeing a lot of his friends and their families from his previous school come to his games to support him.

Bump for another state title today. They've now had three straight undefeated seasons, two with my nephew as starting qb. It was a tougher road this year losing a lot to graduation including the top two WR's and RB. They also lost their top WR this year in game four. He made it back today for the final where he had two TD catches and an interception. Passing numbers weren't as gaudy this year as they leaned on the run, but my nephew finished with about 2350 yards, 33 TD passes, and 3 interceptions in 13 games. They have to move up a class next year for the playoffs, but losing talent to graduation is probably more of a concern as they only played teams in our class in the playoffs anyway and beat a couple top ranked teams from the next class in the regular season. My nephew put on a throwing clinic in the final, the highlight being a running to his off hand side and throwing a perfect deep ball for a 67 yard TD. It was the first of four TD passes on the day. These last couple years have been incredible and while I'm already excited for next year, I'm probably going to be sad when his high school career is over.

Based on what you've described, I looked him up - looks like he got his first D1 offer a few weeks ago. Congrats!

That's awesome. Enjoy the high school years because college is more like a business now.

This post is from 2015, so if my math is right your son is now 14, same age as my youngest who plays baseball.

I hope your son continued to play and you enjoyed the little league ride.

I feel blessed to have experienced so many great memories of youth sports.

I loved every single moment very much. The time I spent throwing him BP and hitting 1,000s of ground balls to him will always be considered some of the most wonderful times of my life.

It makes me sad to think that time in my life has passed. We’re on to 14u travel baseball and high school sports but I am forever indebted to little league baseball for the profound impact it had on my life.

Congratulations! This is amazing on both fronts.

I absolutely love both sports. My son plays club volleyball, they travel to Chicago for a tournament next weekend. Volleyball is underrated! He also plays on a competitive 14u travel baseball team.
