Bleh with Ortiz off the DL I lost my slot to stream pitchers. I feel like in an 8-team league this is pretty important.

Which of the following players, if any, would you cut in order for me to start streaming pitchers again?

Troy Glaus
Chris Young (OF)
Marmol (dont think I can cut him right now)
Burnett and Vazquez but I think cutting either of them is silly

I get: Troy Tulowitzki, Fernando Rodney, John Maine

I lose: Joba Chamberlin

If you need Tulo and Rodney, I think the drop from Joba to Maine is probably worth it. If either of those two won't be every week starters, then it's probably not.

I think I've becnhed Cueto once all season, although I've got weekly lineup moves.

I'm starting him, although I think the correct decision would be to bench him. I'm tied for last in ERA, last in WHIP, and some of my pitchers include McGowan, Bonderman & Harrang so time to gamboool.

That's my offense. I just got offered Chipper for Victorino, and I'm pretty iffy on it. As slam-dunkish as that sounds, Victorino averages about 3.15 points a game in our league, and Chipper (when healthy) probably averages about 3.4-3.5. To make the move, I'd have to trade someone to play Chipper, as I would only have two outfielders and seven infielders (with six IF/UTIL spots). I'm leaning towards declining this, especially since the Braves are about to drop out of the race. Thoughts?

Maine came out of tonight's game with "right shoulder tightness." Just so you know...

Chipper's on the DL too. I suppose it depends on who you can get to replace Victorino. My gut tells me that the drop will be similar to the upgrade you get going from Tulo to Chipper, so why take on the risk?

CB Young just homered and has stole 3 bases in the last week. May be a good time to buy low or pick him up off waivers in league's where managers have given up on him.

He's also been hitting 2nd in the ever changing Bob Melvin lineup.

I might start platooning him with Hart.

keeper league...I had no intentions of keeping Duch fwiw (I think he's a one year wonder)

So A-Rod, Roberts, Granderson, Wainwright, and Duch

for

Utley, Upton, Harden, Magglio, Ludwick

Arod to Utley=downgrade
Roberts to Upton=downgrade, although an upgrade in the distant future
Granderson to Magglio=downgrade, and a violent loss in the future
Wainwright to Haren=Upgrade
Duch to Ludwick=swap of one year wonders

This does not look like a good transaction for you now or in the future.

My wife has Teixeira in a standard roto 5/12 team league and I think she should trade him now that he is worth more. Her pitchers are horrible (weak draft picks on her part) and I'm looking for options on who she should try to trade for directly? I'm hoping a good trade suggestion will make up for forgetting our anniversary (ya right) if you have suggestions there feel free too...

Taveras and not close. Not sure what you mean by "not factoring in categories", considering neither does anything in most categories, while one of them happens to dominate in one.

You still down on Campillo? Know you were not enamored 2 months ago or so, but seems decent. Just a good spot starter, or decent keeper?

Certainly, Bruce isn't dominant himself in any category but in way fewer ABs, he pretty much trounces Taveras in HR/RBI (which is where I need help most), edges him out in R and is at worst a wash in BA but projects to be better going forward. I'm about 30 SB ahead of the pack and could afford to take a big hit by giving up Taveras. I still have Weeks, D. Young, C. Young, and Hart to get steals.

Same league, I've been offered the following deals. Joba and Garza are currently on my roster:

(1) Joba for Pence
(2) Joba for Nady
(3) Garza+J. Baker for Nady+Blanton

What do y'all think? Definitely not (2). Unsure about (1). (3) is doable, but I really don't need Blanton. Maybe counter with Garza for Nady?

Doesn't matter Bob. Taveras has way way more fantasy value than Bruce right now. If it's a normal 12 team league than Bruce isn't that much better than what you could find on the wire. Taveras has 12 more steals than anyone else in the majors. That's a HUGE difference. You should be able to get a lot more Taveras if your league is active.

1 and 2 are really gross and not even close to reasonable. Both those guys are middle of the road outfielders while Joba is a legit stud starter.

Blanton is worthless. He might pick up some cheap wins but I so no reason why he starts putting up better numbers in Philly than he did in Oakland. Nady has been playing over his head this whole year and I doubt he continues his pace in NYY. The fact that he's batting 7th behind Cano is not going to help his numbers.

Garza is a decent starter on a good team. He's going to get wins and most likley have a reasonable ERA. He's a great spot starter or end of your starting lineup type of guy. Baker isn't going to put up huge numbers but should put up reasonable numbers at 2nd.

Definitely not a good trade for you unless Nady somehow continues to roll and moves up in the lineup.

Garza for Nady isn't too bad especially if you need hitting help a lot more than pitching. Really hard to say without seeing your whole team and who Nady is taking the spot of.

AL-only standard 5x5 roto keeper league.

I'm pretty much out of it in this league. I've got the most bid money (meaning I'm guaranteed either Tex or Bay) and I'm looking to pick up keepers. Just to make sure I'm still sane... I want Tex here, as he will have more trade value, right? I won't be able to pick up both.

Taveras in a landslide.

I still don't buy into him long term. Do you think he can be a RHP Jamie Moyer? If so, was Jamie Moyer ever worth keeping? Compillo's Ks are down and his BB are up in June and July, so maybe the league is starting to catch on.

Given your situation, you can probably justify the deal. I agree that you *should* be able to do better, but you never know what the other owners are thinking. The problem is, you shouldn't even be starting Taveras at this point, so any starter would be an upgrade.

Garza for Nady is fine. I don't believe in Jeff Baker, although if you don't have a replacement, you might not want to let him go. Otherwise, if you need an OF, don't haggle over the other spot.

There are a lot of variables here. Do you need to make this decision today or next March? Hopefully you've got a few months to make the decision.

his last 3 starts are 15:4 though, in 22 IP. that is a useful back of the rotation guy

I gotta trade one of them to improve my speed. I figure I can get Taveras, Ellsbury ot Rios no problem for any one of these guys. I'm kinda freerolling because I am gonna hit the innings max if I keep all these guys and Randy Johnson has been coming on strong.
