That sucks. I know he's going to get it for sure now that Rory's hurt but after the media made such a big deal of him playing at the John Deere I thought it would be cool for him to win it, taking over #1, then hop a jet to the Home of Golf.
Him winning the Open and attaining #1 would be pretty much the coolest thing, ever, though.
Americans (except for one of them) haven't had much success getting to #1. Couples in 92, Lehman in 97, and Duval in 99 are the only Americans not nicknamed after a cat to ever be OWGR #1.

Reason: They didn't have OWGR in the Palmer, Nicklaus, and Watson eras
Yep he's teeing off on 18 tied for the lead. Leader is in the clubhouse and his partner Lee is also tied with a chance to win here.
Any of these 3 winning would be cool. Danny Lee with back to back wins would be awesome. And "Old Tom" Gillis, at age 46 getting his first win would be cool.
As much as I'd like to see another playoff, Spieth is in perfect shape off the drive (195 from middle of the fairway) to get his approach really close for the birdie and the win.
Danny Lee going for it. Almost a great shot. lol IBF talking about playing to save par when Spieth is where he is and par only gets you a playoff at best anyway.
