I think everyone kinda agrees that Flacco is a mediocre QB in every category but arm strength who's good enough to manage that offense and throw an occasional deep ball off of play action. It's not like Sanchez where people are polarized about him. I think most people have a pretty good idea what Joe Flacco can do

That's the thing, I'm not sure this is true. Flacco is capable of being elite. Physically, anyway. I'd love to see what he could do with the right OC and a scheme that fits his strengths. It's no secret that I'm a Flacco apologist, but that's because I HAVE seen what he's capable of. I'm pretty sure I've seen every throw he's ever made in preseason / regular season / post season. I'VE SEEN him make throws that, maybe, 4-5 other QBs on the planet can make. He has it in him. It's just about him realizing his potential and with Cam Cameron he'll never do that.

As for this year, just win games baby.

I love BAL's defense so I was rooting for them but they're gonna have to turn the clock back a couple years on defense if they want to win, they're not going to score enough and NE is going to score more than BAL is used to.

i'd imagine the last 4 minutes of no/sf was a key factor in the decision.

The only difference between my golf game and guys who shoot 15 strokes lower is consistency. I can hit all the same shots as them! So its weird that people don't consider me as good as those guys, they are just more consistent IMO.

That and Frank Gore isn't a top 5 fantasy pick.

Ravens fan irrationally/blindly defends Flacco itt

Watching as a Texans fan I would say Flacco's performance in the last game really wasn't that bad. I think his main fault was not adjusting to the pressure (this also lies with the OC though).

Texans defense absolutely stuffed Ray Rice, which isn't supposed to happen. He was a complete non-factor. Flacco also threw at least 6 balls over 20 yards and couple were threaded perfectly. He threw 2 TD passes (the first one was an awful pass though), and didn't throw any interceptions. He was stripped once.

For how much pressure was on him he really didn't make any huge mistakes. He made bad throws but not into triple coverage. His O-line was utterly destroyed the entire game and his results had to be at the top end of the expected range. I'd snap-take that kind of pressure and shut down of Ray Rice without thinking twice and expect much worse results typically.

I don't think he's a great QB or close to it but he did not have that bad of a game in context. Most QBs in the league have a worse game and many of those are far, far worse.

Contrast that with TJ Yates. His line kept him squeeky clean (0 sacks) and only a few pressures and a couple hits and he had a running back who went for like 150 total yards and he threw up several awful passes and played a big role in losing that game for his team (thought Jacoby Jones played the largest role). Imagine the 2 QBs switched roles, that game is an utter blowout in favor of Flacbert.

I think Flacco is incredibly mediocre and hope they get Peyton Manning this offseason. With that said, he not horrible.

I agree 100%. I was talking bout rmthahawk, nothing you said. As a Manning fanboy, I would hop on the Ravens bandwagon if that happened.
