Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

Easy to manipulate your golf score so as not to attract attention. Tank a small tourney every once in a while, maybe even miss a cut if you want the weekend off. Turn it up when it matters.

Anyone shooting 80% beyond the arc could be on an NBA team within a month, regardless of appearance.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the scenario...

You're getting 24 points for every 10 attempts. Averaging 20 attempts shouldn't be a problem even if you're really short.

Records are shattered.

Am I missing something?

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

I'm a 12 handicap...my best round was a 76, but I'm usually hovering around 82-84. Every so often I'll play a practice round where I give mysel a mulligan after every shot, even good ones. And I'll play the shot that's best. So I'm getting two shots every stroke. I once scored a 66 doing this.

So golf would be definitely the way to go

Screens tho.

The reason even a short person would GOAT it up is because all you need is a non-blocked shot.

Then you can just go back to the point where you're about to release the ball and adjust.

all you need is to be able to shoot it without getting blocked, pretty much everyone could theoretically be the goat at basketball

only a question of how long it takes you, someone like jr smith would probably only have to waste an extra 10 mins or so to redo enough to play at a goat level (just insta redoing missed 30ft 3s, wasting like 5 secs a time). some decent college player maybe an hr. for some total scrubbo rec league player, probably a long ****ing time

As cool as it would be to get walked in every single plate appearance (unless I managed to grind my skill up enough to luckbox a hit every now and then), it would probably be incredibly dull after like... 5 games.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

Baseball would be easy. Take every ball, practice on each strike until you can connect.

QB is possible if you have an arm that can throw 20 years with some zip.

Basketball is tougher as you'd have to compensate for your Jordan Hulls-esque lack of quickness.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

People are forgetting that you are the only one who gets to alter what happens. If you're a QB and have 20 chances to read the same defensive play, you're going to find the open man nearly every time. Getting the ball there is tougher but not impossible.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

Baseball would truly be the most hilarious. I could pitch every game and just lob 40 mph pitches that somehow no one can ever connect on. Scouts and others would use advanced techniques to attempt an explanation and just fail when the pitches are revealed to have little to no movement or deception and MLB hitters just can't make contact.

It would take an annoyingly high number of retries to complete an entire game of 81 swings and misses though.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

Take a few snaps to gauge where the pressure will be coming from, how well they'll be blocked, and which receiver gets off the line the best. You don't ever actually have to be hit on any one of these snaps.

We get into some deep **** though if we start considering randomness. Like, obviously the pressure will still come from the same spot as that's a planned event from the opposing coordinator, but what if this iteration has your lineman failing or your receiver making a mistake in his route, things that didn't happen in the previous iterations?

Maybe that's what happened here

Peyton obviously a mere mortal timemaster, as he has a limited supply of redos and he runs out every playoffs.

You would never get a try-out due to physical appearance and lack of defensive ability. When conducting tryouts(usually looking to fill those last bench spots) teams are often looking for good defensive players who can play well in practice to challenge their starters.

You're also greatly overestimating how tough it is for a normal guy to just get a shot off(with normal form) against a NBA defender, but with infinite do-overs I suppose its just a matter of enough trials.

fwiw I was putting myself in the hypothetical, and with perfect knowledge of how the defender reacted during the previous trial I think it would be quite easy for me to dominate under these conditions. While you don't have my ball handling/speed, I think you're clever enough getting shots off that you could be successful as well(maybe needing more trials, but still)

again someone complaining about the "dullness" or getting "bored"...I just don't get it! This hypothetical is entertaining enough to spend time discussing it on a message board, yet if you were in front of 30,000 fans in real life playing on a pro sports team you would get bored having to rewind time for maybe ~20 minutes per plate appearance? I think this would be incredibly thrilling(even the failures that you have to rewind).

With AF. NBA seems to be the worst option unless you're already over 6'3" and reasonably athletic.

Also, the idea that everything happens the exact same way doesn't even make sense. You could just take a shot, get your **** completely rejected, rewind, shoot 1 foot to the left while defender looks like a complete idiot.

It would change once you changed something ldo

If you rewind, press play and then step a different way, the people will react differently. Its more about giving you an advantage in reaction, not action.

NHL Goalie LDO

Get beat on a breakaway? REWIND
Get beat in general? REWIND

Much less rewinding and re doing things like in basketball/football etc, and a good goalie could see $$$

and i'm decent at golf but that would really be a *****. i'd dominate the shorter courses but even with infinite tries it would be tough to get many birdies at the loooooong courses.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

Golf too easy. I'm like a 25 handicap, but inconsistently long enough to where there's no reason I can't go -30 every tournament. 1 putting everything = lolgolf. (include bowling from above as the same as golf, but less ******ed repetitions)

NFL QB maybe. I'd be GOAT game manager until my HC decides to Kaepernick me, at which point my replacement goes 0-20 / 9 INTs every game until I'm back in.

MLB Pitcher (AL please, pretty sure I'd just use my 800th re-do to un-commit suicide and then strikeout on my 801st if I was trying to hit major league pitching) would be fun.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

Golf is nice because there's no opponent that alters his plan against you. In basketball, if you need to move one foot to the left to get the shot off in a rewind, your opponent will recognize. In golf, if you need to aim your putt to the left a foot extra to sink the 30 ft putt, that's all you have to do
