I literally have only bet the triple crown races and am a complete noob. What's the thought process for betting several exacta and tri? Like you are guaranteed to be placing losing bets, so it can't be correct right? Full disclosure I have always bet a ton of different **** and just see what happens lol

Is there any point in betting this at a track when I can lock in my odds online? I hate not knowing my odds until after the race goes off. Seems to defeat the purpose of posting odds at all.

It's a speed figure. Basically, the higher the # the faster the horse ran. They take the final time of the horse's race and adjust it to how fast they thought the track was playing that day

Sometimes they can change in your favor if you wait. But if you want to bet on AMERICA #1 Pharoah then you can probably lock in a better price now online.
