My homer non-championship division pick:
1995 ALDS Game 5 Mariners v Yankees

The brief moment in M's history where things didn't suck. Coming back from 11.5 games down in late august to being up 2 games with 2 to play, then losing out and having to use Randy Johnson in a tiebreaker when he was the Cy Young winner and the rest of their pitchers were garbage.
In the first playoff appearance in franchise history, they start 0-2, then Randy pulls one out on 3 days rest and they win game four 11-8 on a late Edgar grand slam.
Game 5, down 2-4 in the bottom of the 8th, Griffey hits his fifth homer of the series and a bases-loaded walk ties it (scored by 19 year old Arod), but rookie Mariano Rivera comes in and closes the inning with a strikeout.
The Yankees get men on first and second with nobody out in the 9th until the BIG ****ING UNIT comes out of the pen after one day off and shuts them down with 6 strikeouts in 3 innings. He gives up a run in the 11th, but the heart of the M's lineup is due up.
Plus, if they lose that game, the M's probably move out of Seattle and win 5 World Series under different management.
