This is like saying what would have happened if you replaced Mark Sanchez with Adrian Peterson. I'm sure the Jets would have been much better. Doesn't mean Adrian Peterson should be a starting NFL quarterback. He's much more valuable as a running back, just like Rex Ryan is much more valuable as a defensive coordinator.

I mean, he's more valuable there in the sense that if you can get a different great head coach and also have Rex Ryan on your staff, you have a better staff, but that doesn't suggest that Ryan isn't suited to be a head coach or anything.

So Sanchez's last 3 games, against the juggernauts that are Arizona, Jacksonville, and Tennessee:

35/68 339 yards 1TD 7INT

2 wins, 1 loss. LOL

I remember when Colin Cowherd wouldn't shut up about sucking Sanchez's dick, saying he was better than Sam Bradford because he was more confident because he dated beautiful women.

LOL Cowherd LOL Sanchez LOL Jets

Wow, that is simply god-awful. It doesn't matter, though, because Sanchez will be out there next week to deliver the lolz again, and the next week after that. And they owe him a ****-ton of money next year.

Rex Ryan wont be fired. He will get 1 more year to get this team turned around. The nucleus of this team isn't bad at all. If you take away Sanchez this team can easily be a contender (fully healthy). No way can Mark Sanchez play another game for the Jets next season. They have to bench him these next 2 games he will get torn a new a-hole next week at home.

Tony Sparano will 100% be fired and I can see the Jets getting Vick or Smith for a 1 year deal so see where that goes. Also I think Mike T. will be fired for they way he assembled the team this year and for giving that stupid contract to Sanchez just to get some cap relief last year.

With all the fully guaranteed money Sanchez gets next year I would love to just flat out cut him like they did with Alan Fanaca in 2010. I believe he had some guaranteed money and woody sill cut him. They have to get Sanchez off the team or keep him #2 no chance of starting ever unless injury.

The best move is to cut him and hope the Bills or Dolphins pick him up. If you are going to pay him, at least have him playing against you, for God's sake, not for you.

Belichick has talked to Rex and ensured that Sanchez will be starting for the Jets next year.

Nope, If I know the Jets like I think I do and it is simply to get media headlines and make money selling tickets etc...

Since the season is already over why would they play Sanchez? No way is he starting, especially at home. The crowd would eat him alive. So I bet Woody Johnson since its a home game will want to get people there so I can bet that Tebow will start to get fans to come watch. That's if Woody has say in the decision if not then I would say Rex is going to go with McElroy and see what they got with him and see how he does.

They are going to be giving alot of playing time to the young guys and maybe Joe McKnight and Bilal Powell will see extra touches at RB to see how they can do. McKnight broke out a big run tonight so I would love to see how he does carrying a bigger load. Also give Coples the start and Demario Davis, maybe even OLB Ricky Sapp, S Antonio Allen, and TE Hayden Smith off the practice squad. These are dead games anyways so these are the games you use to see what talent you got at the bottom of the roster.

But I can say with a 99% positivity that NO WAY Mark Sanchez plays next week it's pointless for him to play. Then during training camp next year give him a shot to earn and win the job. His time in NY is most likely done as a starting QB. The fan base is already against him with a burning passion of hatred. How does the organization expect to have fans come out next season to the stadium if they plan to play Sanchez again? Not a chance in hell.

sanchez's extension is the worst contract decision in recent NFL history, or at least until flaccbert gets like 30m guaranteed this offseason

Sanchez will start next week. Only two more games to go, they might reevaluate in the offseason but starting anyone else takes the Jets down a pathway the FO is not ready to handle given Sanchez' contract.

PS. Maybe I'm just really childish but I laugh every time I watch the butt-fumble. Like, every head slam makes me laugh, I thought it would get old but it simply doesn't. Thank you, Mark Sanchez, for the one gif that makes me literally laugh out loud every time I see it.

Yea that's understandable but there is no way that Sanchez can start for the Jets next year. Looks like he will be a 8.5M backup. It just can't happen he isn't good he is terrible the fanbase hates him he is gone. If Sanchez plays all hope for Rex staying coach will be over after 13' season. It would be smart to just bench Sanchez the next 2 games and see what they got and then going into next season since he will be on the team anyways most likely and they can take it from there. I just think playing him is dumb at this point. The Jets made their bed now they gotta sleep in it but no way will I watch another Jets game if Sanchez is the QB.

Butnahhh, and given the Jets' cap situation, it looks even worse. And nobody wants to trade for him. They gambled on Sanchez becoming a half-decent QB, and they lost. So now the Jets are truly ****ed, there's no other way to look at it. LOL Jets

If the Jets are smart, they'll play Sanchez the next couple weeks in order to get a better draft pick.

And there will be changes this off-season after the Jets were finally, mercifully, eliminated on Monday night in a 14-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans that should be submitted as evidence to the N.F.L. that the postseason field should be reduced, not expanded.

"For that last play to happen,” Coach Rex Ryan said, “that was about as bad as it gets.”

Considering the stakes, Ryan is correct. But really, he has a catalog the size of a diner menu to choose from.
Quote:
“I’m not playing well enough for us to win,” Sanchez said. “I made a couple of bad throws.”

It is impossible to make a “couple of” bad throws after throwing two couples of interceptions.

Consider those 3 points at halftime an accomplishment, though, since in their previous two games, they were shut out in the first half. Small victories and all that.

He is clearly not a starting QB in the NFL, but is he even a top 15 backup?

I can't think of a single playoff team that would want him on their roster, so no.
