Doubt the club sanctions that kind of spend without a full time manager or Dof. I'd be happy to give spurs some extra ££ this Jan for Toby ontop of his summer 25m clause and avoid anything in the summer. Would rather we spend 80-100 on De Ligt than Koulibaly.

He's probably the only CB in worldt football who could be sold for that price range. Varane, Laporte and VVD the only others I'd put in that range

Can't see us selling Bailly this window, unless we bring someone in which seems unlikely. If he can't beat out Phil Jones for the rest of the season he should probably be looking for a move in the summer though.

I would imagine that Napoli would want him for the rest of the campaign especially since they are still in european competition. I'd be thrilled if United landed him this window, I'm just not getting my hopes up on it

obviously it's more likely he doesnt go to united than he does. that's true for the summer too. but it's surely possible to deal with napoli

writing "european competition" glosses over that there's a gigantic difference between being the el and the cl. the o/u on attendance at the next napoli home game in the el is probably 15000 and nobody cares all that much.

If our board had a clue (it doesn't) we'd have something in place for De Ligt now. If he simply wasn't interested or had another move planned then we should shift our focus and look at Koulibaly or any of the other names mentioned, preferably in Jan now we actually have a shot at top 4. Rojo and Jones will almost certainly be gone in the summer and Smalling should be on the chopping block too if we can actually bring in Toby + someone elite. Bailly/Lindelof/Toby/Big money CB is more than enough going forward especially when Bailly is out 50% of the time.

I'm pretty meh on Toby unless it's a "We're a big time club and can afford getting him as a rotation player to improve our depth" thing. He's not someone you settle on, they need top top talent. I also think it's more important to get one of those Big 3 CB's in January than it is to be absolutely sure which one to get in the summer. Skriniar now and then de Ligt or Koulibaly this summer would be fantastic

It's more about United being big time enough where Toby isn't a dream signing. I haven't minded their hesitancy to get him, and I'd like to think United have goals/standards where a guy like Toby would be one of their 3 top CB's not a clear #1

I guess if a no-brainer deal like de Ligt somehow became possible we'd pounce but probably the latter.

There haven't actually been any "strong" rumours so far, just obvious nonsense from BS sources like Footmercato and the like.

Was really hoping we'd move quickly to get the DoF installed after we sacked the ****. We are going to need a massive clearout this summer, on top of needing to sign at least 4-5 first team players. The summer window is going to be yet another cluster**** if we wait until the end of the season to bring someone in, especially if we're still looking for a new manager at that time.
