Apparently some offers are on the table for Özil. Minor transfer fees (20-25 million), but full wages. One of the teams is supposedly Atletico.

I am incredibly saddened by how things are shaping up. Not even angry anymore.

Spoiler:

I'm having a hard time imagining Ozil in a Simeone team, let alone them paying him 350k p/w.

If that's the kind of decision making we can expect, I hope we stay well clear of their DoF (who we've been linked with regularly for two years now).

We will have to pay part of his wages unless we sell him to a chinese/arab team.
Atletico seem like a very bad fit but Simeone did shower Özil with praise before our EL semifinal against them. Who knows, but i doubt there's any more truth to it than the James Rodriguez links to Arsenal.

I hate the thought of getting rid of our most creative player when we are lacking the very thing the most....well after a solid defense maybe.

Anyways, he is not even in the team when fully fit so maybe the best would be paying part of his wages and letting him leave. *barf*

Özil can be extremely frustrating. I will not miss that. When he is doing well, he is amazing.

I can think of quite a few players you'd get for 350k per week that i'd prefer over Özil if it wasnt for sentimental reasons.

You'd actually need to buy players though. Sven wants to leave, because none of his suggestions are being followed through.

I thought he wanted to leave because he is being muscled out by Raul. I'll take Ornstein over any random reporter!

Ornstein reporting Emery suggested to Özil it is better if he left. Oh dear.
They should make a reality show on our club. Would blow the sunderland and city ones out of the water.

It would have to be narrated by Claude

This whole situation with Arsenal reminds me of a broken relationship. A girl who used to have a banging bod, fun to hang out with, just mindblowing sex. Later she got fat, abuses you emotionally and keeps promising BJs that will never come... you can't quite understand the emotional connection other than reminiscing about a good old times.

Wenger said something during an interview which sounded fairly ominous at the time, but I didn't know it was going to be THIS bad. Something along the lines that we are going to understand more about the club itself when he left, we will know... something like that.

I think Wenger shouldered too much blame in the moment of it all and now maybe some Arsenal fans are starting to realize that the foundation itself is on very shaky ground (not necessarily financially as Arsenal aren't going to go bust) and it was papered over a lot. I knew some people who felt that it was important just to move past Wenger and that would be moving in a positive direction, but it doesn't solve the root cause which won't change for a while.

I pretty much considered it a miracle to have made top4 all the time with being outspent by basically every competitor.

Thus far the PR move was to blame it on the stadium cost. Now when that is gone people are seemingly waking up, not many are buying into the self-sustaining model crap. It all exploded when it was announced that the club doesnt have money for winter signings just loans.

****ing pricks. Dont get me wrong, I would not want the UAE money. But an owner who cares about results on the pitch would be nice.

Our hope is binking the next generational talent of Niles, Nelson, Holding maaaybe Eddie. Maybe. Maybe buy ****load of cheap French players and hope a Koscielny or two develops from the bunch

He did say "You will miss me when I'm gone." Out of context because he was aiming that at the ******* English media during one of his press conferences, but it still fits.

Kinda funny how we had a team in place of like five guys to do Wenger's job after he left and now they're already dropping like flies.

Also, I want the Arab money. Give me all of it. I don't give a single ****. I want to watch awesome players at my club.

Eto'o scored 9 in 21 games for them. Hattrick against United. There are probably a few more we've all forgotten about that are all better than Morata too.

So Simeone wants Ozil. Mourinho sang his praises ("everytime he touches the ball, it smiles") but Bumery has no need for him because has to cram as many DMs on the pitch as he can.

The day we signed him (and Alexis six months later) was one of my happiest as an Arsenal fan. I thought it was the end of the banter era. lol me.

the özil situation is absolutely ridiculous, If Emery can't or doesn't want to make it work with him and instead prefers to play a much inferior team with no creativity whatsoever he is the wrong man for the job

According to Ornstein, Özil is half-assing it at practice. That changed a few weeks ago when Emery put him in the freezer though.
