Wow, I am so happy and proud to have been taken with the #1 overall pick here. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting it. The first thing I'd like to do is thank GOD. I know how much SE loves it when their favorite sports athletes thank GOD after an important win. I would also like to thank digables and nutshot for taking me #1 here.

I know I shouldn't be this happy about being the #1 overall pick in the bad p0sters during the WC draft, but that isn't how I see it. The way that I see it, this is a "who are going to be the p0sters during the WC that we are going to hate and be jealous of because of their country's success" draft. It's pretty clear since myself and SugarNut were just taken #1 and #2.

I promise that I am going to live up to the expectations of being the number 1 overall pick because I have a national team that is going to allow me to do so.

Anyway, now that the obvious top 2 is out of the way it starts getting interesting.

With recency bias admitted, I think there's a pretty clear #3.

Even though there was no explanation needed beyond a LOL inserted into his name by only his 2nd ban for poor posting, some might say this is a strange pick. Marty is from Ireland (I think) and Ireland haven't even qualified for the World Cup. How can he possibly be expected to produce the jejuneness and simplicity that have characterized his first 20,000 2p2 posts over a decent volume during the World Cup?

But even if you cast aside his history of posting annual negative PERs (Poster Enjoyment Rating) across SE soccer threads, there is some clear potential here to meet the rubric of this particular draft. For example, in a reaction to a WC warm-up game between Mexico and Ecuador (showing his dexterity for bad posting) we get here what CPHoya might call a CAPITAL OFFENSE, defending a poster that was already deemed worse than him in this draft:

Another CAPITAL OFFENSE is his weak trolling of the USMNT thread. Marty has the highest number of posts in there apart from Sugar Nut by a non-american in 2014. Such poor post selection combined with poor original skills lead to downright frightening efficiency levels.

For posters like cruizn there are recent events like the Alamo and NAFTA that have consigned his motherland into a 3rd world nation that mainly exists to provide cheap labour and delicious cuisine for their northern neighbour, so for me his bitter posting in the USMNT thread is at least partially understandable. Same thing for Sugar Nut, it's still only 70 years since American troops rolled into Berlin after kicking German ass all the way from Normandy. The thing that makes Marty's posts so poor is that there is no logical explanation for why we are being forced to read them.

Some recent examples: (Remember this is akin to you being dedicated enough to search out a Northern Ireland STST thread and seek to reduce it's quality with pointless bickering over and over.)

We were debating whether to post some of his freedom and USA #1 posts in this write-up, but those are just too tilting and we don't want you guys to suffer looking at them again. There will be plenty of those types of posts when Noze and the rest of the American clowns try to save face once their beloved USA team goes out of the group stages with 0 points.
