Didn't even watch. Matchups like this going on for nearly 20 years, really? It makes me wonder a little about the Patriots tyranny over the AFC. They have three of the most dysfunctional organizations in the history of pro sports in their division, thus a bye into the playoffs, thus a bye into the 2nd round, thus so many home field advantages. If you aren't gifted a division championship for nearly 20 years, some of it changes. No knock on Pats. What is the winning % of these other three teams in the AFC East over the last 18 seasons??? Gonna look it up.

I started a thread on that very topic: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/4...y-era-1647977/

the pats fans came up with some stats that they thought proved their point but the fact remains that there's been literally zero elite competition in that division for the pats to deal with for 20 years. like the very best over 54 seasons was a team QB'd by mark sanchez. quite amazing really

Well, better than I thought. Jets .46 win % with four 10-win seasons in last 18, Dolphins same .46 win % and four 10-win seasons, Bills .41 win %, no 10-win seasons. I guess it's that even in their good seasons, a sense of dysfunctionality hangs over the Dolphins and Jets. On and on. This year a good example. Dolphins, well we have some talent, we're 3-0, Pats off to a bad start, we go to Foxboro and lay down by 30, then start losing everywhere. Still, I'd estimate that eight 10-win season over 18 seasons by an entire division minus the best team is pretty bad. I realize they gotta play the Patriots twice and the Patriots get to play them twice. 8 out of 54 on ten win seasons must be sub-par. Never mind. This hypothesis isn't shaping up just right.

It's basically like getting to play the Raiders or Browns 6x/year.

Someone can break it down, but Brady has a much higher winning percentage against the AFC North than he does against the AFC East, including the playoffs. And his games against the AFC North have a higher proportion of PIT/BAL/CIN games than Cleveland, since they only play Cleveland once every 3 years, but get the AFC North division winner every year.

AFCE-78-20-79%
AFCN-25-5-83%
AFCW-22-12-65%
AFCS-26-6-81%
NFCE-13-3-81%
NFCN-15-3-83%
NFCW-12-4-75%
NFCS-10-5-66%

Tom Brady's regular season records vs teams. I don't think the AFCN/AFCE records are that different. Only thing notable are his records vs AFCW--he's 7-6 vs Denver. Seattle he's 1-2, GB he's 2-2. His overall winning % is 77.4%.

In the playoffs he's 27-10, 73% winning %--he's 3-4 on the road, 5-3 on neutral and 19-3 at home. Get brady away from home in the playoffs....his 3 losses at home in the playoffs are vs Jets (LOL Sanchez), vs Baltimore twice. He's 111-19 (85%) at home in regular season and 91-40 (69.4%) on the road.

Those two Baltimore wins at Foxboro were truly glorious.
