Indeed. The whole thing is a circus, supposedly our bid has improved on the back of David Cameron, Beckham, Seb ****ing Coe and Prince William shaking a few hands. It is ridiculous. Perhaps Wills has tried to get some votes by showing some snaps of the future princess's boobies that he has on his phone.

I would like to think we could host a decent WC here, at least the games would sell out and getting from one ground to the next should only take a few hours. I went to Moscow once, hated the place, can't imagine it being a great place for fans, plus it is obscenely expensive.

The Aussies would probably do a decent job. With America having had it relatively recently I can't imagine that having it there is fair.

In summary, **** FIFA and **** the snow for my train journey to Edinburgh taking over six hours.

If you measure it by number of countries yes, but by population I'd imagine cricket would be number one.

In any case, Asia is too big of a continent to look at as a single pool. The popularity of football in India, China or Japan isn't relevant to Qatar's bid. Football is clearly king in the Middle East.

Give it to Spain and Australia.

Australia odds have dropped sharply on bet 365. Good bet to put some money on Australia and USA? Surely they won't actually give it to Qatar.

Spain/Australia I will be happy
England/USA somewhat happy
Russia/Qatar, very dissapointed

Do not want USA to get it.

The last time they had it was just a shamble and it would only be 20 odd years since they last held it anyway.

Yes they are fans of soccer in fact soccer is the most popular sport in 3 of the 6 countries you have mentioned and the second most popular in the others. Maybe you should ask them how dumb you are?
Soccer is not popular in Australia. The league struggles to attract any support. They get support for the national team and that is about it.

Yeah for some reason they let swimming give away like 10,000 medals every olympics. I don't get it either.

That would make Finland "the most sporting nation on earth".

Personal preference for 2018:

England > Belgium/Holland > Spain/Portugal > Russia

Those 2 are in front simply because the cities are relatively close together and traveling from one game to another wouldn't be as much hassle as the other 2.

2022 kinda sucks for me whoever gets it but if I had to choose:

USA > OZ > SK = Japan >>>> Qatar

yeah but all the cities are close together in Qatar so that'd be ideal amirite?

How many cities do they have? They would probably have to build cities along with stadiums and everything else, basically build a new country and introduce a whole lot of new laws.

Is the 2022 being announced at the same time or whats the story there?

28 is an entire generation. There's been no world cups even close to here. It's not like Euroland where we can just hop on a train and be there in a few hours even if its in another country.

I'll probably have to travel just as far as many Euros would have to travel in 2018 if I wanted to see the USMNT in the WC in 2022.

If Mexico or Canada hosted it any time between 1994 and now, I'd understand the "only 28 year" logic.
