they gie it to europe because its the biggest supporters of football. im sure australia and their perth super warriors league with 8 teams in it think that football is important, im sure that korea/japan with their love of baseball also are happy to have their part time soccer teams fly the flag

the simple fact is that europe provides almost all of the worlds soccer entertainment year on year, so if you think it should routinely go to other continents that dont really give a f about football, i repeat again, its not a charity drive.

the only countrys catching up are the americans, and you have said they dont deserve it with any frequency, so to be honest i dunno what you are yapping on about.

It means Australians are more into sport than anywhere else on earth in my experience.

Australia's main card to play over USA though is the fact it hasn't hosted it before which imo should have a pretty big weight in a decision like this.

When you guys use Aussie Rules pitches for soccer, do you have to build temporary stands? Otherwise the touchline seats are going to be far from the action. Perhaps surprisingly, the largest American Football stadiums are for college teams.

As per http://www.australiabid.com.au/austr..._stadiums.aspx it appears that your average capacity is 51,000.

And as for our bid? Hm... I think I need a bigger calculator. Considering the smallest stadium on our bid currently seats approx 66,500... I'm thinking we have you beat there. Not to mention in the next 12 years it's pretty likely there will be several new gigantic stadiums built here. Multiple 100k+ capacity stadiums didn't even make the cut.
