Ugh. Was sorta inevitable but sucks to concede just when it seemed maybe Chile might sneak out a draw

Would have preferred the Americans segregated to let the adults talk but either way works.

Netherlands were a lot better than NZ, but NZ were ok, and should probably finish third behind Netherlands and Canada.

Sweden have been excellent across all facets, looking forward to their game vs USA, might be the game of the group stage, probably worthy of a QF/SF had the draw broken differently.

Biggest thing I have noticed so far is that the inferior teams are able to keep out the better teams for longer periods, perhaps even moreso than inferior mens (such as Saudi Arabia, Panama etc) teams were against better opposition. I don't think any game has deserved to be a 5 goal plus flogging, as the quality of shots conceded has been far worse.

For example, here are the highlights of Germany last world cup destroying Ivory Coast. Most goals are walk-ins



Since then teams are more compact between defence and midfield, and tighter out wide. Giving up deep crosses from 25 yards out on the sideline is fine, and most teams have realised that. It bodes well for the game long term.
