sure they had lots of yards, but inside the red zone, they weren't getting it done. They had 3 shots from the 1 and didn't get it in. You are losing by 1, and if you take the lead right now, you are going to win the game 90%+

if you go for it and don't get it, you may never get the ball back, or the next time you are in the red zone, you my turn it over.


all that said, based on how both offenses were playing, the current score, it's a no brainer FG.


I said it earlier, if the Bears are up by 1 or 2 or 3, where a FG only gets you up by 4,5, or 6, then I'm going for the TD, but when you are behind in the 4th quarter you have to take the points.

ok screw the results oriented stuff (like the 19 yard net on the punt blasted into the endzone, the roughing penalty on the 1st play sack to basically put Washington where Houston punted from, that Washington missed their own 52-yard FG in OT, and the fact that Houston still won the game), was the decision really that bad? he passed on a 52-yard FG try to win the game, right? his 34-yo kicker already missed from 47, so i'm guessing Kubiak didn't think Rackers had the leg to make it from there (he's about 50% from 50+ for his career). so he punted to trap Washington deep and make them go 70 yards for a FG try themselves.

so is it that bad? just asking. yeah maybe it is, probably want to just take the ~50% chance to win the game if you have it right there, because even if you miss it you could still win later.

For the record it was a net of 14 factoring in the intentional delay of game, not 19.
