If we are to live up to our fearsome name, we should definitely specialise in the sphere of rotund athletes.
On that basis, I am proposing to split a single investment across three golfers in the upcoming Open Championship of Golf, in which there are sufficient options of larger gentlemen, and in many cases I see value in the Investfair market in those with a fuller figure.

Splitting the investment equally across three of them allows us to have multiple options should misfortune strike one of our players at the breakfast buffet.

First and foremost, we have Kiradech Aphibarnrat. Weighing in at 104kg (229 lb), the Barn Rat has 11 professional wins to his name and is currently the 51st ranked golfer in the world.

As you will appreciate, the world's top 50 garner a lot of attention in the investment markets, allowing those just outside to sneak under the radar, providing excellent value to those who seek it.
He qualifies for this event through having been in the top 50 in week 21 of the season, and also through being in the top 30 of the 2018 race to Dubai.
Projected return on investment: 709/1 currently on Investfair

Secondly, and to placate the more patriotic of our American Partners in this endeavour, we have Patrick Reed. Weighing in at a relatively svelte 91kg (200 lb), Reed has 6 professional wins to his name, one of which being the 2018 US Masters, and is currently the 25th ranked golfer in the world.

You may think, being a member of the world's top 50, he would automatically be over-invested in, but in this case, I believe we may yet have unearthed some value, as other American golfers of a similar age are more popular and so Patrick can be overlooked at times.
He qualifies for this event through having been in the top 50 in week 21 of the season, and through being in the top 30 of the 2018 race to Dubai, and through having won the Masters in the last 5 years, and through being in the top 30 in the 2018 Tour Championship, and by having played in the losing 2018 Ryder Cup team.
Projected return on investment: 159/1 currently on Investfair

The final selection has already been mentioned, and is of course Lee Westwood. As a long time excellent hitter of golf balls, he should need no introduction or explanation, but just in case he does, his record reads as follows:

43 professional wins (more than Speef, Brooks, Cantlay and DeShambles combined, with fewer years as a professional than their combined total also)
Winner of seven Ryder Cups, and 23 Ryder Cup points
Formerly the highest ranked golfer in the world when he ended Tiger Woods's 5 year reign at the top of the world rankings.
He qualifies for this event through his top 30 placing on the 2018 Race to Dubai
One final thing to note about Lee Westwood, is that he is so good at golf the powers in charge of Augusta National felt obliged to stop inviting him to their annual tournament for fear he would continue to embarrass the competition. This decade he has on 5 different occasions finished in the top 8 of the Masters, despite only being invited on 8 occasions as they were too scared for the last 2 years. He also has 2 further top 20 finishes within those 8 appearances, proving he is truly a remarkably skilled golfer who is feared by all Americans.
Projected return on investment: 239/1 currently on Investfair

Summary
I propose that we split an investment equally between Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Patrick Reed and Lee Westwoat to win the Open Championship

Reasoning: Braunschweig are underrated due to spending almost all of last season in a relegation dogfight. However, this was almost entirely due to ****ing up the first half of the season. In the second half, they were one of the top teams and should contend for promotion this season. I'd back them to finish ahead of Magdeburg (freshly relegated) this season and go back up. They've also signed the best player in the league in Martin Kobylanski from Preußen Münster.

If you need further convincing: Magdeburg fans look like this

Shea Patterson (QB Michigan) to win Heisman Trophy - 41.0

This one is on the INVESTFair Sportsbook, not on the exchange.

Prospectus:

The Heisman Trophy is the most prestigious trophy in all of American Collegiate Football. It is given away by the New York Athletic Club, who outsource the voting to a massive voting populace of sports writers in America. Many of These blokes are very old school, traditionalist types, who have a heavy bias towards traditional powers and teams that play a lot on TV before 8PM Eastern Time (when many of them are tucking into bed).

Because of the inherent bias in the voting community towards Michigan nostalgia, and Michigan's projections for the upcoming season, I think Mr. Patterson is an excellent INVESTMENT at 41.0.

Key factors in the decision making process:

-Michigan is projected by College Football Expert Phil Steele to be one of the 4 playoff teams in this upcoming season. Heisman winners are massively correlated with overall team success.

-Michigan has turned their offense over to new coordinator Josh Gattis. He was the major architect behind revamping Alabama's offense over the past couple years, turning them from a smashmouth running attack into an aerial assault with tremendous success.

-Patterson was the #1 QB Recruit in his class. He has great arm talent, mobility, and decision making, and will no longer be hampered by an archaic offense helmed by excellent BLOKE but poor offensive game planner Jim Harbaugh.

-Eight of the past Nine Heisman winners have been quarterbacks.

In summation:

Michigan is projected to be a top 10 team with a ceiling that could see them contend for the playoffs. If they do hit that ceiling, Patterson will likely lead an offense that will put up a lot of stats for him personally. If Michigan is playing high profile games all year and scoring a ton of points and gaining a ton of yards. I think the inherent bias in the sports writers who decide the Heisman will give Patterson and Michigan the benefit of the doubt that Quarterbacks from more defense-averse leagues like the Big XII and the ESS EEE CEEEEEE will not get.

At 40-1, it's not a high probability to come through, and it will tie up some CAPITAL for long term, but some long term futures are a good add to any INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO

Proposal: BACK SHEA PATTERSON FOR HEISMAN - 41.0

Yes I’m proposing investing in a favourite in a golf major come at me.

Rory set the Royal Portrush course record at the age of 16 and has spoken at length about how much winning the open in NI would mean to him. This may be his only chance as it’s the first time in over 60 years that it’s been staged in NI.

He’s also in great form this year with 2 wins and 11 top tens from 14 events and chose to play links golf last week at the Scottish open over the John Deere classic which historically is better preparation for the open.

I feel sure we at least get a sweat with this investment and there’s also added value of butthurt American golf fans when Rory triumphs.

Clyde/Draw double chance v Hamilton

lolHAMILTON drew 0-0 at home to QUEENS PARK on Saturday who are a ****ty league 2 team and they even lost on penalties to them. Clyde are a better team than Queens Park, in decent form and just got promoted to League 1 last season so fancy their chances to get at least a draw against lolHAMILTON tomorrow night

(This is the Scottish League Cup group stages which I don't think anyone in the world cares about even us Scottish folk)

Odds: according to oddsmatcher best odds are 7/4 (2.75) on BFSB, can't find it anywhere on BFEX

cpl months ago it was like $3,500, last month it was $8,000, few weeks ago it hit almost $14,000 and now its below $10,000. random swongs

i think its not far from a coinflip to be below 5k by the end of the year, and we can get 4/1.

Question about lukethefluke's e/w investement - do we need all 3 golfers to finish in the top 10 or whatever e/w is? (I suggest looking at different sites for this because from doing matched betting I know some sites like Paddy Power offer top 10 places paid for e/w bets for golf)

If just one of them finishes in the e/w places do we make a profit?

I know it locks up CAPITAL for a long time, but I will reiterate that Shea Patterson for Heisman is a fantastic INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY.

The new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis totally transformed Alabama's offense from a slow, plodding, conservative attack into the third highest scoring offense in College Football last year. There's no reason to think he can't do the same at Michigan, which has comparable talent relative to their regular season competition. They are not as good as Alabama's talent level, but they don't have to play any truly elite teams until the playoffs (where they will probably get embarrassed by Alabama or Clemson). But the Heisman is given out in mid-December and is based solely on regular season play.

3rd league matches are often broadcasted/streamed on one of the regional channels, but I'm not entirely sure if these are available outside of Germany.

Edit: Just checked and apparently it will be shown live on the ARD main channel. We can post links once the match starts Saturday.

There is no ****ing way that Aphibarnrat is only 104kg/229lb. He's at least 250, at times pushing 270.

Westwood to win a major has to be the play for the pure bants at the very least

But Rorys to lose given he knows the place so well. But he could want it to much.

Looks like a molinari course at 33/1 to me

i thought so too, but he's 5'8" so it makes more sense now

fun fact, he's a major vaping enthusiast and google chose to give a photo of him exhaling a massive plume as the accomplanying photo next to his height when you search

"aphibarnrat height"

I have backed the Rory one but mainly because of how hot his form is and how overrated his choking is (he's not a historical choker like DJ, Phil Mickelson, Monty but is mentioned in their bracket). Not because he knows the place because I think that stuff is way way overrated. Like Koepka's caddy knowing the course so well will give him what 0.1 of a shot on the field or something? Not 5 shots like some people would claim. Also I would lay Koepka every major guy has run historically pure.

this is an outrage! we only need one of our bowling balls to finish top 10 and we get decent profit, and when one of them wins we all have our yachts!

and you guys keep voting for odds on shots and think we'll have our yachts before we die of old age? now we have them on the ropes, it's time to destroy the bookies. it feels like destiny for Lee Westwood to finally win once the F&BPC has been established

if this doesn't end top 3 there's a special resolution to do it anyway coming
