What are the rules for debating a proposal? Do we want to wait until other proposals are in? Or can we let fly whenever if we view an investment as good or bad?
I think the following 3 elements of a proposal should be included always
1. The outline of the INVESTMENT for those unaccustomed to that sport/type of INVESTMENT. For winning a tournament, an explanation of the format would be good (i.e is it a best of 3 series, are their pushes/draws etc)
2. The date and time of the conclusion of the INVESTMENT, for those looking for channels to sweat said INVESTMENT.
3. The current price expected to be received.
4. Are we looking to BUY an investment, or potentially SHORT a specific investment, if we as a group of Fat Pubbingtons believe more in a stock FAILING, as opposed to SUCCEEDING
The following is a bit more information as a prospectus for the partners
-----------------------
For reference, DER MARKT to win the Cricket World Cup is as follows
England $3.18 (+218)
India $3.5
Australia $4.2
New Zealand $9.8
West Indies $32
Upwards others.
The format is 10 teams in a group stage, full round robin (9 games), top four make the semi finals which are single elimination for two games. The tournament is halfway through so far, and it is almost certain that England will make the semi-finals, and that the other semi-finalists will be Australia, India and New Zealand.
The matchups are 2v3 and 1v4, with no real certainties as to which order the bracket will be.
We would essentially be INVESTING in a two leg parlay of England to beat India and either NZ or Australia (India will either play England in the semi finals, or be solid favourites (maybe -135/$1.75ish) to win the non-England semi final vs Aus or NZ)
Currently you can back England at $1.76 or India at $2.02 for their group game in two weeks. In reality, that market will probably settle at something around $1.83 England (-120) and India $1.90 (-110) for their group match, and we can expect a similar market for any potential final as well.
(forewarning that group game might involve SHENANIGANS as teams jostle for seeding. It is possible/likely the teams would want to meet NZ as opposed to each other in the potential semi-final round).
