Yeah, good points. The great thing about the McLaren is that it's a great chassis and has a solid suspension design. That shouldn't be changed much with a new engine. All of the front aero parts won't be affected by a wider/narrower/taller engine unit, but obviously they will have some work to do at the rear. I wouldn't mind betting that they've been planning their '18 car with a Renault engine for some time.
There were some reports that Renault stopped offering RB any support after they decided to call it a 'Tag Heuer' engine rather than Renault. Who knows, but if McLaren are paying the $$$ then I think they'll probably get some hand.
