Have honestly never heard anyone use the word verschlimmbessern except for English speaking "zomg long german word!" Tweets

BTW a guy I know bet Burgstaller to score and Schalke to won today at 3.5 odds... he got there but that seems awful

Is there an English word for the German "Verschlimmbesserung"? This is exactly what happens in 99% of relaunches of sites that had no issues to begin with. Transfermarkt.de's site design is still total AIDS and that's now what, three years beyond the relaunch? Now not only their content is ****, but their site, too.
I feel this about most Android updates for example. They turn off good features and introduce new **** ones.

Anyone see Verratti getting booked for getting down on the ground and heading the ball back to the keeper? That must be a bookable offence?

Yeah I have no idea why he did that, there was no one even close to him (obv) so not sure where he wanted Trapp to be able to handle the ball so badly. I read on twitter from a German reffing podcast that it's bookable offense because it's considered unsportsmanlike circumvention of the back pass rule. I guess by extension it's about discouraging time wasting but that case was pretty lol

Yeah it's an obscure rule but it's basically unsportsmanlike conduct. It's an angleshoot to get round the rules. Same reason you can't flick it up from the ground onto your head for a backpass. Funny thing about the incident was how wholly unnecessary it was too. No attackers near the ball or keeper.

Trapp never even got his hand on it, did he? Good one.

I know jack**** about betting but it really does, yeah.
Burgstaller def one of the weirdest players I've seen play in my life. He can look both the worst and the best player on the pitch in any game just so easily. Obviously sucks for us that he's gone now.

New rule I heard of first this morning.

Quote:
“12.9 Advantage played for a red card offence and player then becomes involved

Additional text
Advantage should not be applied in situations involving serious foul play, violent conduct or a second cautionable offence unless there is a clear opportunity to score a goal. The referee must send off the player when the ball is next out of play but if the player plays the ball or challenges/interferes with an opponent, the referee will stop play, send off the player and restart with an indirect free kick.

Explanation
Clarifies that on the rare occasion that a referee plays advantage for a RC offence (only if a goal-scoring opportunity is imminent) if the RC player then becomes involved in play, the game must be stopped as it would be against ‘fair play’ if the player scored, contributed to a goal or stopped the opponents scoring.”
Already applied (at least) once:

Quote:
In this case, Eli Dasa produced a second bookable offence on a Zenit player, on the halfway line, but referee Ivan Kružliak continued play since he felt there was a “clear opportunity to score a goal”.

Previously, referee’s were unable to continue play if they were about to send a player off.

No Carvajal, Marcelo, Pepe, James, Bale, Modric for the Celta game, we're not going through. Would be nice if we didn't have half the team injured every January.

he was saying to the cameras "this is my home, here, here" after he scored against Bilbao. he's not going anywhere next season, especially since Simeone will stay as well.

Maybe the bald one should think about resting players vs lol teams and not always play the best 11. Also you still have CR7 or ramos with another offside goal
