RM had a situation like this a few games ago, Vazquez iirc gets the ball from an opponent in our box, RM counters and scores a goal, all of this in like 15-20 seconds. Ref checks the VAR to see if Vazquez fouled in our box. Would have been crazy to disallow a RM goal and the opponent team to get a penalty from that action.
I saw it happen in the mls u20 all stars vs tigres u20.
Mls keeper made a save and threw the ball to start a counter that resulted in mls going up 2-0. However replay showed the keeper illegally handled the ball. So the goal disallowed, and dangerous free kick given to Mexicans. Of course they score on the free kick and we go 1-1 instead of 2-0.

The stupid thing about plays like this is that the play would not be reviewed had mls not scored. So knowing that there is a good chance the keeper handled the ball outside the box the optimal play is to give the ball away on purpose rather than try to score.
