he needs to learn how to create "charity" foundations that promise money to little kids and then keep it all to themselves, too bad his dad died, seems like something a father should control

Messi is clearly a thief, this CR7 thing is just a misunderstanding. It will probably be solved in under a month and he'll cruise to his 5th Ballon d'Or, leaving the haters fuming once again. VIVA RONALDO!

El Mundo is reporting that according to the court, in October of 2008, about nine months before Florentino announced Ronaldo's signing, when Ramón Calderon was still president of the club, Ronaldo had already given Mendes power to sign the contract, and that by December of 2008, Ronaldo had already signed (with Calderon!). That's a lot of shady people doing a lot of shady things with forethought.

For what he is charged with the normal minimum sentence would be 7 years in prison. He'd have to give Mendes up on a platter to get much less.

His best option to avoid prison is to admit everything and pay the 15 million he owes, plus the corresponding fines, now.

El Mundo is barcelona based right? I wouldn't read anything other than official court transcripts if I wanted to follow this. Certainly not Marca/Sport/El Mundo.

according to you (I suppose you have a master's as well) and the brain damaged catalan people, sure.

If they want to go to court, the case will most likely get filed and he wouldn't even have to pay a fine, but his and RM's image are way more important than a few million dollars for someone who will end his career with about a billion dollars, so they will most likely settle and pay the fine. This case is different to Messi, Di Maria or Mascherano's.

It's funny tho how people start talking about prison like 45 minutes after someone SUPPOSEDLY committed fraud.

Interested to see how much each of these youngsters play into Bayern's plans this upcoming season:

Sule
Gnabry
Sanches
Coman
Kimmich

and now Tolisso as well

Pretty sure Süle will only play in meaningless games or if they have injury problems. He's not that good.
Gnabry might still be loaned to Hoppenheim?

Haven't Buyern looked bad vs Gladbach the last 5 years? Gladbach have dropped off last year though.
Dortmund only meaningful games anyway.

For a supposed madridista you know less than **** about the club. The dude is guilty as hell and everyone knows that. This is part of the big effort to go after Mendes, and the club is lining up behind the government, because they're sick of Mendes too. Ronaldo's camp has filtered to the media that he wants to leave, and Florentino has filtered to the media that he's fed up with that sort blackmail, and Ronaldo can go play in Manchester for all he cares. Everyone knows that the threat to leave is an effort to get the club to pay his back taxes and fines, and they've already effectively communicated that he can go to hell.

There's nothing supposed about any of this. Half of the team and half of Barca has already plead out on similar cases involving similar set-ups. They took they're time with Ronaldo because he's the big one. Barca was sloppier, Rosell will really do time, because the club was in on the crap. Madrid is more professional, they worry more about the Madrid brand than the Ronaldo brand.

Florentino and co. have to worry about themselves. Big well connected guys who bought all sorts of access, guys like Villar Mir, are looking down the barrell of a gun right down because of their tie-ins to all sorts of higher level corruption. Florentino, who isn't immune to any of that, just more skilled, is far more worried about the well being of ACS, about rebuilding the Bernabeu, about building north of Chamartin, about all sorts of other stuff worth a lot more to him than Ronaldo. He's probably also tired of babying the guy, and in any case can't afford to appear soft on corruption/tax issues in the current climate.

Not going to prison? Former vice president Rodrigo Rato is headed to prison. The King's son-in-law is headed to prison. The former president of Madrid (the government) is IN prison. And there's more gonna join them. Sure, none of them will do as much time as they ought, some of them will wiggle out, but this dude is just a football player ...
