hmm, while we're all going lol portugal and that, i had a quick look at cyprus' wikipedia. seems they beat bulgaria 4-1 at home in qualifying for the last world cup. as bulgaria's goal came from berba, if the game was replayed today, it'd be 4-0, ergo england = cyprus

yeah, i think he would have been a good signing, but at the same time i'm satisfied with our midfield signings, Forrest is coming through and seems to have potential, and Maloney is fit (for once) and looking quite good so far this season (needs to work on his finishing though, granted) and he can play as a winger. Juarez can play at RM i think if we need a wide midfielder who can provide a bit more defensive cover.

Same. Brown is same old, sadly, but Ledley, Juarez, Kayal, Maloney, McCourt, Forrest and Ki give us a lot of good options in the middle.

i totally agree, but he would still be the best player at Motherwell by quite some distance

It's depressing being Scottish. Need a good performance and a 3+ goals against Litchenstein (have no clue how to spell it) on Tuesday to make me happy

we weren't that good really, it's easy to look like a solid defense when you play 10 men behind the ball with no intention of counter attacking, and obviously the defense is individually very good (Coentrão, Bruno Alves and Ricardo Carvalho are very good, and will be even better when Bosingwa returns).

That said, this game was a complete outlier.

i was more pleased to have him back because he is a player i thought should not have been allowed to leave in the first place, i like to see our own homegrown players do well for us.

now with that said, he has been mince since he returned and will have to improve his defending dramatically or he will be on his bike again.

Spoiler:
i was right about Fortune, Hinkel, Samaras and Crosas all being duds

France running baaaad, we should have at least gotten 1 point from that game.

We played okay but it's just hard to score against a very very defensive solid team without most of our offensive players (Gourcuff and Ribery suspended, Nasri and Benzema injured, Ben Arfa and Gignac not fit and we lost both Remy and Saha during the game).
