League titles and a good shout of winning the CL every season. A breeze every week, no need to get out of second gear either and it's not exactly a **** league either.
Because he's 28 and his next contract will most likely be the last big one in his career. I've mentioned this numerous times before but at an absolute minimum we should be making offers to players like Alaba to force Bayern into paying top rate salaries since the current market (at least before Covid) had more $$ than talent.

If Bayern won't pay him more than €15m then we should be giving him €20m no questions asked.

As for Alaba, I know lol shirts and all, but he's been at Bayern since he's been 14 or whatever and might just like it there so it's possible PL clubs would have to give him significantly more money than Bayern, who aren't exactly poor themselves. Of course he could also want to go somewhere else after all those years at the same club. He'll be able to command a top wage anywhere so this might actually be a situation where it might come down to where he wants to play rather than a 5-10% difference in weekly wage.
I agree on Alexis being a lot of results orientated thinking mixed with lols because it's United.

I don't think the chances of us signing him are likely but it's incredibly annoying to watch Bayern sign world class players for small salarries (relatively speaking) becasue club execs seem to just shrug and say "well he's never gonna leave Bayern so no point"

Because the club is owned by an American who thinks Arsenal exists for him to print massive $$ every year and has no plans to invest the type of money it will take to be genuinely competitive with elite sides in europe.

For years Arsenal fans really thought it was just Wenger not wanting to spend money but now he's gone it's a reality check on where the blame really lies.

Afaik Bayern do pay very good wages. Reports have them as #5 for the year 2018 and #6 for the 2018/19 season
https://www.sportbible.com/football/...urope-20200116
https://www.sportbible.com/football/...ealed-20200306

They seem to be paying Lewandowski 20m, Neuer 18m, Sane 17m and Müller 16m (all in € pre-tax).

I remember when Josh(?) Kroenke made some comments 1-2 years ago how they changing the attitude of the club to be more competitive and investing serious money. Then we bought David Luiz.

Hojbjerg for £15m seems great business for Spurs.

As per Orny Willian deal is imminent. We are apparently willing to give him a straight up 3 year deal.

Regarding the Sancho transfer, he says that there are issues in both the personal terms and the fee between clubs. I was under the impression that it is almost a done deal so that came as a surprise.

Wonder if shifting Sanchez could do the trick at least on the personal front. Also United are still letting Woody take care of these deals? If so it is staggering.

We don't do quick deals. If it gets done it'll be after a tedious drawn out saga, mid september probably.

You'd think Woodward might learn something almost 10 years into the job butttttnah. Should have contacted Dortmund weeks/months ago and got a deal in place, no doubt this will follow our usual pattern of refuse to meet the demands until the last minute and then pay the full amount anyway.

Curious to see the wages Arsenal are giving to Willian for 3 years

My guess is that it's going to end up looking like a bad deal but then if you benchmark vs ozil, it may not be bad

Agent Willian will lose his legs immediately on putting pen to paper. Slow Willian for 3 years.

Telegraph reporting Auba has signed on for 2 more years and ESPN reporting Willian is "only" 100k a week.

norwich's jamal lewis linked to liverpool for 10-20M

should just be inserted as depth opposite neco williams i would guess. he seemed not terrible in the few games i watched. had some good cross and chance created stats post-restart for a trash trash team.

3 years including his current 1 year.

most sources report 3y deal on 100k p/w for Willian. Sounds a little too good to be true.

Ah, makes sense.

Willian on a 100k is a no brainer imo. We lack creative midfielders and he is pretty good at creating chances.

100k p/w for Willian seems fine but surely he got a big fat signing bonus as well? If that's including the signing on fee that's a pretty great deal, even if he turns out to be useless in the last year.

Some of the rags (i.e. sky sports news) were saying £15m yesterday, but BBC is saying: "The two clubs have now finally agreed a fee that is less than [£25m], but a lot more than Spurs' initial £15m offer."

So I guess £20-22m?

Regardless, a good bit of business all around, particularly if we can get Walker Peters for between £10-12m

We've also apparently signed Mohammed Salisu for £10.9m, although the club/BBC haven't announced it yet

People on Twitter who know a lot more than me are saying this is a fantastic get and are already speculating that his will be a typical Soton transfer where they'll sell him on for 5-6x as much in a few years.

Yeah most of the chatter seems quite positive. Apparently £10.9m is a release clause and it's a bit of a steal.
